If Gianni's is to be moved, I don't think the Bucks will wait for him to be a free agent. If management gets an indication he wants out, I would think it will happen next season before the trade deadline for Milwaukee to receive assets in return. So those waiting to sign him outright might no be able to.
The Bucks have zero leverage for that. If they shop him around in a trade, no team will surrender assets for a possible 1 year rental. LA, GS or Miami will just wait it out and they could sign him up once his contract is done with the Bucks or from the team that acquires him via a mid season trade.
The Bucks will surely ask for the moon in a possible Giannis trade scenario and if it is done then Giannis will join a team that will be bare bones because the assets were traded for him.
Ganyan ginawa ni AD eh. He said that he was done with the Pels while he still had a year left on his contract. They shopped him around and Boston was interested. The Pels asked for Jason Tatum + Brown + 2 first round picks. AD then gave word that he wont re-sign for an extension if Boston. Ayun....urong si Ainge. If he pushed for that trade and AD walked after the season then that would put Boston in a tailspin for the next 4 to 5 years.
Pelinka could have waited another year to land Davis without having to trade BI, Ball, Hart + 2 picks however the window of opportunity is closing real fast because of LBJ's age and contract. Sayang yung isa pang taon na intay so they pulled the trigger. They know for certain that AD will re-sign with the Lakers barring any sort of disastrous season.
On the other hand...the Kawhi situation before was a gamble for the Raptors that paid off with a championship. They lost Derozan in the trade, Kawhi played for them for a year and won the championship then after his contract was done he walked away and signed with the Clippers.
watch out for future statements from Giannis like "testing the market" or "see what's out there for him". Sure ball yun he will bolt
