IMHO If you assemble a team that has the ff:
- 30 feet of combined length, size, strength and mobility in the front court (AD, Javale, Dwight, LBJ)
- players with 12 combined appearances in All Defensive Teams, DPOY's etc
- multiple championship experience (LBJ, Rondo, Green, Javale etc)
- two of the current top 5 players in the world that complements each other and has purpose (one wants his first ring and the other one wants to add on to his legacy)
- a more than capable coaching staff who knows exactly how to maximize the strengths and motivations of the team (Vogel, Kidd, Hollins, Handy etc)
- complete buy in and understanding of the common goal including the offensive and defensive identity of the team
- an added purpose to win it all this year (Kobe Bryant and Gianna)
Well.....you will get a juggernaut. Something that isn't easily stopped. The only way you have a chance to stop a team like this is when they begin to beat themselves (Turnovers, sloppy defense, poor shooting, lazy rebounding, infighting, locker room drama etc) which rarely happened the entire year.
Portland, Houston, Denver and now Miami. All good teams. Mismatches lahat. LAClips and Bucks could have given the Lakers a run for their money but unfortunately they couldn't figure out their opponents at all hence they don't deserve to get a shot at the Lakers.
