Speaker A+B
« on: Oct 05, 2020 at 06:17 AM »
If the integrated amp offers speaker A+B Function and there are 4 pairs of speaker terminals at its backpanel, can i use all of it to do biwiring?
If yes, any adverse effect to the amp or the speakers?

Cambridge Audio normally has that feature kaso you can only use a pair at a time kasi may button sya which set to select. Not sure if there are amps who does A+B not A or B. This A or B switch is very useful for speaker comparisons.

As my own experienced, Hindi naman siguro. I used to do that w/ Rotel & NAD integrated amps using the A for the HF & B for the LF. Ok naman it's like looking for the sound that will suit your taste if you hear any difference.

Yes it's okay if using for bi-amping. Usually mentioned in the manual and did that already before multiple times. As to whether it's better, that's another topic.

Would doing that actually half the power output or still deliver the full wattage per channel per terminal pair?

Same amount of power is still fed to the speakers, since you just relocated where the wire for the tweeter and woofers starts.

Thanks. I guess therell be nothing risky about it so ill try and probably stick to it if power degradation wont be an issue.
