It's not as if he doesn't have value. Philly is asking for the moon that's why a trade hasn't been consummated. 2 to 3 very good rotational players + a future pick will probably be more beneficial to the 76'ers instead of taking in another superstar + picks for Simmons. They already showed that they are all in with Embiid so why not surround him with pieces that can really help him instead of adding another player with an ego to take care of.
Embiid has already shown that he is close to unstoppable when he plays down low. Surround him with reliable shooters so that the defense cant cheat and he can do his thing.
Unfortunately as they are built right now, Embiid always faces a double team because the player who is guarding Simmons is always sagging down low egging him to shoot and is waiting to double Embiid once the ball reaches him. Yung counter ng Sixers sa issue na yun is putting Embiid at the three point line while Simmons is posting. That negates whatever superiority Embiid has over their opponents. A true 7'2", 260 pound player with agility, post moves and the one that can do the most damage down low.....nilalagay nila sa three point line because they need to get Simmons involved in the offense somehow.
Remember the Game 7 playoff game nila last season against the Hawks? Simmons decided to pass instead of a layup? Embiid was at the three point line...feeding Simmons at the post. Hindi talaga sila mananalo sa plano na yun.
Simmons needs to be traded. A fresh start with a new team might be good for him.
