I'm not sure if Marantz & Denon are similar but they do came from the same company.
Its been a while I had a Denon but as for the Marantz latest models like 6015, when you use all the speaker outputs (F/C/S/SB/H1 & H2 ) you have to surrender 2 channels in order to make the Surround Back work. I had this problem & took a while to solve & thats when I learned when reading the manual thoroughly. What I did is used a Power Amp to power the F/C/S & let the receiver do the job for the SB/H1/H2 & from there you can configured it in the Amp Assign Section of the amp. HTH
