« on: Jun 04, 2004 at 12:52 PM »
Anyone have any comments about this RPTV? I saw it side by side against a toshiba wideview and it kicks the Toshiba's ass. comes with a free DVD player too.

How is your RPTV now. How's the FC5 feature it's advertising? When I viewed it at one store, parang meroon siyang extra layer of glass sa harapan, is it useful? Am about to purchase the C43-FD5000 model and I would like to hear your comments on this range of Hitachi RPTV. Thanks.

Its great dude, i dunno though what the FC5 feature does or is. Ya parang may extral layer of glass siya in the screen. My only complaint is that when watching skycable the picture is  super snowy but with DVDs it rocks! and the support of Hitachi is great. you can just call them and they send an engineer over to tweak your tv. Not ISF calibration though.

pilsen & classicman,

I am initially thinking of getting Hitachi TX100 model (Front projector) pero I am leaning towards RPTV kasi it will be used mostly sa regular broadcast channels. Mga 20% to 30% lang and DVD.

Yung stretch mode naman distorts the picture, yung zoom deletes some parts of the screen. Takot din ako sa burn-in issue na nababasa ko.

Have you both considered Toshiba models? Ano masasabi nyo sa picture quality nila against Hitachi?

Pilsen,

super snowy ba ang cable channels? Is it because weak ang signal mo or because of this particular model of Hitachi? Kung kayang ibang brand, paraho rin kaya? A friend of mine has the Toshiba 43" and I find the aerial broadcast very good. Natatakot kasi ako baka after I receive the unit ay snowy yung pic (meaning not acceptable pic for aerial broadcast) tapos mas maganda pa yung low-end Toshiba model ng kaibigan ko.

i would certainly recommend that you opt for the widescreen coz its the thing of the future, hehehe ;D ;D ;D, as to the size of the TV, well it will depend on the room where you intend it to place on, pinili ko ang maliit na 47inches lang since my music room is not that big

as to comparison with toshiba rptv, i did consider toshiba also since the store where i bought mine happened to carry it, i requested a side by side audition of the two using the same source of dvd movie, the result was pretty obvious, toshiba was soundly beaten in all the departments so to speak :D :D :D

but that's just me, so i suggest you also request for a side by side audition and let your own judgment decide, hope this helps

 :) ;) :D ;D

With regard to the snowy picture from cable a friend of mine bought a cable signal booster from Radio shack ok naman, think it went for Php 1,200 if I remember it right.  Maybe this can solve your problem if ever.  Please note though that there are two boosters avalable, one is for Free UHF/VHF chanels or Free-to-air and another for Cable.

HI Guys! :)

Isama nyo ako sa mga naglalaway sa WD5000 series ng Hitachi.  Truly impressive siya and the price is great! I saw them at the Listening Room in MEgamall and talagang ok siya, kahit anong RPTV ng Hitachi ok naman but i prefer the widescreens.

Sayang ala ako pambili.  :'( :'( :(

good thing i've been seeing positive replies. we just bought this tv a few months back from automatic center. 120k yata with the [fake] hitachi dvd home theatre system. 12 mo. installment 0% interest.

standard ba sa mga projection tv yun frequency configuration ng channels? 1st time kasi namin bumili and mejo hassle kasi yun ch 2 at 7 nasa 17 at 21 respectively...

overall, great quality and very clear cable tv. sky cable kami and its really clear for tv, halos parang dvd-5 na yun hbo.

Everybody seems to have purchased the 47 inch model.  Anybody knows where you can buy the 57 inch model?
