medyo nabawasan na talaga brad pip, si sarge na nag-review eh but I'm still open for auditioning the 2 side by side . . . bat ba kase sa ibaba naka-display yung rx6 nung andun tayo sa audioworld eh hahahahah Hirap pa nito meron 1 nadagdag sa list but I'm shifting my priorities now fr. speakers to a more powerful amp.

while we have different mindsets on the RX series versus RS, wiht the size of your room and the constraint you have with the huge rack laid out in the middle, the RX2 would still be the best option for now in my opinion, besides you have fallen inlove wiht the RX 2 the first time you heard it so much so that listening to the RX6 totally got out of the equation.

the cost difference from RX2 to RX6 is significant enough to get you to your new plan, I am also contemplating on finding a more powerful amp but perhaps when im done with the new HT room. If there is a need to get one, I will definitely go the EMOTIVA way but only after I listen to the new project of jojod818, monoblocks that he will create for his soon to be launched HT project ;D

Sarge, baka pwedeng pasabay ako kila Butch next weekend. Very long overdue na yung dilemma ko sa 2 speakers na yan ;D

Similar case dun sa 2 nakausap ko, they had the chance to audition the RX6 & RX2 and they both ended up buying the RX2(the other one is a fellow member). Iba-iba talaga hit & miss ang response ng listener that's why we have to give each other respect, pareho naman MA yan afterall.

. . up to now hindi ko ma-replicate yung extension & dynamics hahahaha.

Nyak! natuloy ka pala kahapon sarge hahahaha suri delayed reaction ako pls. disregard my previous post. But nonetheless, your observations on the 2 speakers validates the 2 RX2 owners I mentioned above. Saktong-sakto parang pareho kayong 3 ng tenga. Thanks for the comparo.

Yes sir, natuloy din - after paying the #@%*! 360 parking fee sa Mandarin, talagang susulitin ko na byahe ko sa makati :D buti nalang medyo natapos si Butch ng maaga sa errands nya kaya naka singgit din ako before going home.

You're right - I forgot to mention in my previous post that a good poweramp would probably be the best bet in extracting the qualities of the RX6 - of course, good source equipment and cables wouldnt hurt either.
Naturally, if you use these same components to the RX2 - then it'll make it better as well.
AVR lang kami last night, which I felt did not justify the properties of the MA RX series - but the change alone between both were huge na.
My son who was with me last night even commented - parang balktad yung tunog ng dalawa ah ::) Ako naman, napa tingin nalang kay butch & blurted - niloloko ba tayo ni MA?  :D ;D Natatawa nalang si Butch eh.
Even while I was still in the hifi show talking with Joey & Che about MA in general, when I mentioned the RX2, biglang lumaki nalang yung mga mata nila at napa ngiti rin. Parang may alam sila but just told me - sir, audition nyo nalang muna.
Kaya pala gusto ni Butch na present sya pag mag audi ako - and when the audition was over, sabi nya "mahirap kasi i-explain sa inyo over the phone at hindi kayo maniniwala sa akin. Mabuti na at ma-experience nyo at kayo na mismo ang magsabi"
Nothing beats the value of auditioning talaga - now I fully understand the reviews I've seen thru the net as well as the other comments shared here by those who have experienced the RX2 ;)

@Luther - are you looking at MA for HT or Audio?
Ako kasi my mindset is in HT - so Im not as critical as if Im shopping for audio speakers.

Speaking of HT, I noticed also last night that the RX center might be a tad bright and parang somehow its 2-6" drivers still isnt a match for the RX2's 8" woofer. Parang mas bagay si RXcenter for the RX6 in tonality.
Im now in a quandary if its still ok to use the RXcenter along with the RX2 - or if a single unit of RX2 used as a center speaker would be better kaya?

Although I am basically 60-HT & 40-audio  ;D ang mindset ko dati sarge is for audio talaga, kasi I believe whatever is good in audio must be equally good in HT. I don't like it overly warm, iniiwasan ko din mga speakers na harsh & bright sounding para hindi sana masakit sa tenga pag heavy action scenes or gun battles cos I want it loud when I watch movies(around -15 to -10db sa Onkyo705) so, kahit 2-3 action movies in a row intact pa din ang ear drum ko, hindi fatiguing. ;D

Nasubukan ko ito sir, ok din naman kasi yung LCR set at 0db (a/vr's Level Calib.) is a bit thin sounding. But personally I prefer kung +6 or +8 hotter ang settings ng LCR . . . mas ok pa tignan ang setup aesthetically.

So are you recommending the RX2 as center or ok na si RXCenter?

In my case, I have a separate audio setup from HT, so 2 considerations ako when shopping for speakers.
Pareho tayo ng hilig when it comes to HT watching - not warm & definitely not harsh/brite. Neutral but with punch! ;D

RXcenter kung ako sir . . . i-set lang ng +6 hotter than left and right channels ok na ako.

Lets say 0db ang left and right channel sa Level calibration ng a/vr, set ko lang ng 6db yung sa center(LCR).

Tried testing it again. Overall, mas ok ng konti ang RX2 bookshelf as center but I will not trade that slight improvement over the extra money I will shell out for the extra pair. :)

For testing, ang ginawa ko tinanggal ko cables ng RX2 L & R speakers para center lang marinig, I chose a dialogue intensive scene w/ almost no effect para hindi gumana ang surround and left the RX2 center running for 1min. Paused the player, took off the Center cable and put it in one of the bookshelves(in this case the left speaker) then, played the same scene. Tama ba sarge? ;D
or bisitahin mo dito sir pag may time ka, send ko syo map papunta dito.  ;)

Im relieved to find that out.......and certainly using the RXcenter will save us money as opposed to buying another RX2 set...even with a surround back option.

So now that we've covered the LCR - what surrounds are you using? RX1, RXFX, RSFX, etc?
Im kinda intrigue in using a true dedicated surround speaker as I've never had a monopole/dipole speaker before. Malaki ba diff in having that kind of surround speaker?

I'd be honored to visit your place. PM sent ;D

sisingit ako ng konti dito kagawad mac, ako nag set up ng gamit no xyobub and isa sa mga distinct na napansin ko agad yung surrround, ibang klase ang dating, censya na at di ko ma describe sa perspektibong teknikal pero when i played the same DTS sampler im very familiar with sa set up nya using the RSFX, dang ibang animal ang tunog nya, di na lang sya basta tunog na narinig mo sa likod but tunog na mas detalyado at malinis, its one of my wishlist. problem na lang wala ng makukuhang RSFX ngayon but kung kukuha ka ng RX series, the surround should be RX series too. RXFX yata is 34K when we aksed before sa Audioworld. Try checking out by actually listening, baka mas maganda ang BXFX or BRFX as surround kesa RX1, If Im not  mistaken another pdvd meber who uses RS6 RSLCR uses BRFX as surround

BR2 lang surrounds ko sarge. Hindi ko pa na-compare ng side by side ang direct-radiating vs. dipole as surrounds. Medyo nawala din focus ko sa surround kasi marami din issues na pwede i-tackle & experiment like the one you mentioned or bipole vs. dipole or direct surround in 5.1 vs 7.1 or bipole/dipole vs. 7.1 . . . heheh kulang pa ko sa knowledge. Pero yung post ni brad pip above at least gave us an idea what we can expect if we opt to use a dipole speaker as our surround and maybe others can share their experiences w/ mono vs. dipole.

As usual superb and excellent customer service from Jason and Che of Audioworld.

Just came from the store to pick up a WaLnut colored RS6. Hooked them up as soon as I arrived at the house and did some test mainly on two channel stereo listening. Not much of a technical guy when it comes to impressions of new speakers but all I can say is that the reviews I was able to read about the RS6 were all true based on how I am hearing them now. I hit the jackpot once again, thanks to the effort of Che to land me a very good deal.

Kagawad mac and brader Cal, thank for the insights and encouragements ;)

based on my listening experience, the dipole config is the best I have heard, the wharfe 9dfs is dipole and though its just a wharfe, Im very happy with it. Nothing beats the surround sound experience using the RSFX again just based on how I have heard them. Putting htem on the side using dipole config provides the best impact. This was validated by Jason earlier when we were talking about this ealier at Audioworld. But the again, different folks different strokes so it maybe a different impression for other people.

pretty much kagawad.

wouldnt go to 7.1 kagawad hardly matters to me when using a surround back if your using a dipole speaker already. Im just using a 9DFS currently and yet im very happy with it, what more if i get the RSFX, mounted on the side walls configured dipole, only thing that needs to be done is line up on that lotto store ;D ;D ;D
