most of the higher brown dog adaptors have bypass caps included.

Usual values for bypass caps... ceramic, mylar film, mica, 0.01-0.1uf and 100uf lytic.

if possible yes, otherwise V+ to V- will do. Remember, the bigger cap is bypassed by the smaller one. That way, high freq noise carried by your psu will stay in the psu, hence your opamp does what it does best i.e. amplify audio, not noise.

Oh no my man, for such a high speed opamp, bypassing is a must if not crucial.

Ok easy lang sir Jojo. Go to Cimarron Technology at: http://www.cimarrontechnology.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=12. The browndogs here are not the same as those sold by soundlabs or lcaudio kasi di pa to bypassed. But you can always bypass underneath the board din naman so ok lang.

Ordering online is easy and you can use either visa or mastercard. Shipping is $6 dollars for five pieces (haven't tried ordering more than 5). I've ordered only once but I just ordered 5 pieces again for a friend. The last time it took only 8 or 9 days to get to my doorstep--which is fast maybe because it didn't have to go through customs.

Newark via Access Frontiers in Makati. AD8066 part no. 97C8359.

It's priced at $3.96 online but AF charged me closer to $5 for it. Waiting time about 2 weeks.

If you want to have the flexibility to experiment on different opamps, get a socket too. If you get the ad8066 from Access Frontiers, might as well get a good dip8 socket (part no. 416-8549). This has thick gold plated contacts. Can be ordered per piece priced at P54. Or get one from Raon but am not sure if they have gold plated ones.

I'm already having second thoughts on the adaptors since they donot include the opamp.

Thanks Garp for mentioning the source of the opamp, maybe I'll just buy the opamp and make my own adaptor. Use those CNC machined sockets instead of those spring loaded ones.

stupid me, just noticed that there are 0.01 uf WIMA caps that act as bypass caps in the dac

so I just need AD8066 and an adaptor
