firewired.. i hope the materials would be similar to the In the Name of the Rose LE faux leather.. that one is better than the LOTR packaging in terms of texture and soft finish..
Okay, DVDiva and I spent some time examining the
Troy packaging and tried to figure out what it's really made of. It's a reinforced cardboard box with a padded (cushiony) swing-type cover. When they said faux leather, they really meant
faux leather. It has the color of tanned leather but basically it's a cardboard box with fibrous textured paper (kinda like brown craft paper) that's been coated or varnished. There's no latch/lock to keep the cover from swinging out like a hardcover book. It's pretty, but I wouldn't know how it compares to the Korean LE releases since I've never seen one.
As a gift item though, it'll raise eyebrows. If you're trying to impress key clients, this should do the trick nicely.
Regarding the extras, everything seems to be intact down to the theatrical trailer and the
Gallery of the Gods 3D Walkthrough.
I also found the
Easter Egg: Disc 2, Main Menu, press right on your remote and part of the trojan horse should be selectable. It's short and features the CG people horsing around with various rough cut scenes -- similar to the gag reels of most 3D animated films.
