Hi tokwa,

Ikabit mo speakers and subs mo sa receiver, tapos i kabit mo via SPDIF/OUT yung sound card to receiver.

Cheers!

I agree with Stark3. The easiest and most viable way would be an integrated amp/receiver with digital inputs.

How much ang budget mo? For surround use ba? What speakers are these?

Medyo expensive kasi ang receiver, for stereo use only to play mp3 music even without sub.

I can adjust my budget but I dont want to spend so much. I'm thinking kung mayron less than 20k for stereo good na ako dun pero kung masyado mababa yun i extend my budget naman.

Salamat

So may speaks ka na bro? Or wala pa?

May branded bnew surround AV receivers from 12k up. May bookshelves from 3.5k up. In this case, pwede mo pa upgrade to surround and madali mag-add ng sub later on.

For now ok na sana sakin yung purely stereo.

Connection now would be:
sound card -> optical cable -> DAC -> RCA cable -> integrated amp

Mas mai-recommend ko yung optical for digital output para sa yo, since PC ang source mo. (Galvanic isolation)

Cheers!

Good choices. I guess medyo bright ang preferred sound mo?

If you haven't listened to them yet, check out the Mordaunt-Short Mezzo 1 and the Monitor Audio RX1 din. The KEF iQ10 is also a viable option, as the point-source design allows it to sound good even when listening off-axis (which would likely be the case if you'd keep the speaks on your desk).

Current Setup:

22" 2232GW LCD Samsung Monitor
2.93Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
4gb ddr2 RAM
Asus motherboard w/ built in 5.1 soundcard
3 x 1gb sata harddrive
Cooler Master 600W Power Supply
Altec Lansing VS325.1 (5.1 setup)

For my pc in my condo, planning to upgrade the speakers to DIY BS - (Genesis BS) and a sealed sub from sir anthony.

as i don't want to use a receiver to connect my pc for just speakers. can i use sir pilyo's AMP5 5 channel amplifier?  How do i connect it the amp to my built in soundcard? and how can i make the setup 5.1? buy AMP 4v2?

Or is it cost effective to buy an entry level receiver?

I won't be connecting the pc to 32" LCD TV.

You might not be able to run HDMI multichannel audio from your PC if you'd be using your monitor's native resolution. Most receivers won't accept non-standard resolutions (Full HD monitors are best suited for this purpose).

If your PC supports Dolby Digital Live or DTS Interactive, you can connect your PC to a receiver via S/PDIF (Optical recommended) and enjoy multichannel audio from virtually all programs that support it (and not be limited to pre-encoded material).
