sir looks,

Dyna audio speakers uses aluminum wire for the voice coil.  We can rewind the voice coil but we'll be using copper wire.  Wala kasing mabibiling aluminum wire and iba kasing panghinang nun.  With regards to your amp, if its a mosfet type mahirap hanapan ng parts yun.

Pakidaan na lang po sa bahay speakers mo if you decide na pa-rewind yun using copper wire.

Thanks,

Benedict

sir looks,

My address is 1241 Lopez Jaena St. Paco, Manila.

Thanks,

Benedict

Chief,

Heres mine. Its a B&W 602 S3.

Problems
  • Tweeter all punctured and damaged. Still working though but i wanted to restore its looks.
  • The enclosure has lots of dirt and smudge. Including paint stains
  • The grill keeps falling off

These speakers were not valued by my wifes father and it seems that he doesn't know anything about speakers and thats what made it this way. Plus, it seems someone intentionally poked the tweeters.

Heres how it looks like.
Right Speaker

Left one. Take a look at the grills. It seems that the grills lock was already misplaced.

The left woofer also has a small tear but it doesn't affect the sound. I believe the B&W surround is different from ordinary surround. Do you think we need to have this fixed? The surround of a B&W seems to be more rigid and solid. Unless of course you have one exactly like it.

Can we have it fixed? Can we have the enclosure restored? and can we fix the grill so as to prevent it from falling off. Do i need to have the tear fixed or leave it as is? PM naman how much? I intend to have it brought to you within this month. Also tried getting in touch with B&W in Green Hills but I think its no longer there.

Thanks

Sir Huddaf,

We can restore your B&W except for the tweeter.  Better order a new tweeter from B&W Philippine distributor.  If you want the original rubber edge you can also order a recone kit from them (B&W).  But if you want we can replace it with the one available here (same material, we'll search for one that will fit and looks like the orig).

Estimated cost of repair to follow (Tanong ko muna sa tatay ko hehehe)

Thanks,

Benedict  ;D

602 S3 sir.

I think thats a 602 S2. Sayang  :'(. The other flaws are minor, though (you can repair them yourself). Good luck bro.

Try emailing the customer service contact of B&W at their website. Attach those pics.  I've heard of instances when B&W shipped exact replacement drivers to their customers years after the warranty has elapsed.  FREE!!!  They may or may not, but there's nothing to lose.  Good Luck.

Hi Bennedict,

My Bose 301 took a major tumble and the cabinet has split at the seams and the woofer now croaks like a frog.  Perhaps a diagnostic is in order?  Can you check them out  or should I  bring directly to Bose service center?  I Would rather have the personal touch then the corporate one and save  some peso at the sme time.

Sir Nolie,

Cost of repair depends on the size (diameter) of the speaker.  Best if you could bring it to us so we could give an estimate cost.  Replied to your PM.

Thanks,

Benedict

Sir skee6,

PLEASE RESPECT MY THREAD.  I have nothing against other speaker repair service, we have our own technics and marketing strategy. If you want to recommend someone please create/start your own thread (like what you did on WS) and not on someone else thread.

Peace
