kung talagang nagtitipid buy some locally made speakers like Daichi. not connected to that company but for P2,000 plus bookshelf, remove the emblem, have your friends listen to it and they wouldn't even know they are locally made. But of course P2,000 lang yan very forgivable. Baka mas mahal pa ang interconnect mo nga eh. If not satisfied have AMX change some capasitors and you will have some turbo charge jeep. Listen to your ears and your wallet, not to the brand.

Actually there is no clear cut answer as to which speaker will go with tube amps as audio is very subjective. Some people prefer warm sounding music while other prefer dynamic sounding ones. At the end of the day it all comes down to matching and one's preference. I believe that there is a tube amp for every speaker (well sana) and for every owner.

However, the rule of thumb is to audition audition and audition.

Go to daichi show room in Mega Mall 5th floor, there were this units with rounded side panel. I forgot the model. I find them very forgivable. I haven't tried it with any tube yet but with 90 db sensitivity it can be a match for low powered tube amp and maybe perfect for higher powered tube. It will be something to compare them with better and known speakers. but again like they say audition and audition. don't be lead by brand names initially. go with your budget and ears first before getting more expensive ones as you get accostume to different characteristics of speakers as well as you setle on what you really like to hear from the speakers. Worst come to worst the daichi speakers can go to the toilet for early morning music when you can already to splurge on better speakers.

By the way, AMX is going to have some new speakers made. don't know the price but it sure will be interesting to listen to them. Now it will not be bad if these speakers can outperform more expensive brands!!!

bumblebee sorry just saw this now,Music lover kasi si misis pero hindi naman maselan kahit sa portable cd-cassette player happy na sya kaya lang ako ang naiirita sa sound quality kaya i gave her her own audio system na cheap lang pero ganda na din tunog sa ears ko lol

and besides ayaw ko sana doon sya sa ht ko listen pero i just found out lately na pag alis ko to go to work eh she uses my system and worse is she cranks it up to the max

Try listening to some new AMX speakers that were design specifically for tubes if I am not mistaken.

After the ikon 6 I lost interest in further upgrades ( I hope this last for a long time ). I just enjoy listening to the speakers. I even added a REL ( good deal lang ) just to play with it. Even during the HIfi show, parang Im not interested with other speakers but a lot are also good. I can say Im one satisfied Dali owner.
