if you're primarily into HT, and have decent fronts already, this is ok na.

Thanks for the reply.....I'm 50/50, so I might look for other options...besides, I just learned that the power rating is not RMS...

ive been using the WH2 for quite some time now, i highly recommend these speakers, they are just under rated maybe because of the price but, you'll gonna expect so much for what you are paying with these speakers.. you can compare these with more expensive brands... attention to detail is quite superb and no delay in sound..these speakers are a good buy for those who are just starting their setups...maybe these speakers are the last youll ever get.

To be honest, the WH-3 sounds like a transistor radio to me when I auditioned it. I sold my WH-2 because it wasnt that good on very loud surround sequences, bumibigay sya. But for average use, it was not bad.

Anyway, I read some THX guy say that they dont recommend spending so much for surrounds since its mostly for effects, etc etc. So the WH-2 is good enough. Because of space constraints, I recently bought a pair of Studio Acoustic (fr Daiichi) ceiling mounted speakers for my 6th and 7th channel. It was only about 2k.

But if you are into multi-channel music, thats a different matter.

Hi MAtZTER, so how do you find Studio Acoustic? Am also thinking of getting a pair for the same purpose (back surround). And where did you buy it?

Thanks and Cheers!!!

I bought it in Raon, RALD allied Electrical supply. 687 G. Puyat St.   733-1777. It sounded bad when I was testing it of course, since it still has no housing. So I have to install it in the ceiling first before I could really judge it. My house is still under renovation so I still dont know how it sounds.

Jason_10...  talaga ba... nagbabasa talaga ng mga old threads!

Hehehehe...

My two cents... I think ok na yung WH-2 Surrounds and the 9.1 Diamonds.  Matching tones na yun.

Let us know when you have your set, okay?  Better yet, why not audition the 9.1 with WH-2 sa mga audio shops?  :)

Same predicament here, Jsllobrera... WH-2 or Diamond 9 RS.

Almost same set-up pala tayo... my fronts are Diamond 9.2 and my center is a CS hooked-up with an RXV-450.

Hmmm... wh-2 or DFS?  :)  Haven't decided yet.  yung 9 Surrounds is priced at 3.8K.  Hmmm...

saka na lang yun... wala pa ring budget... naubos na kakabili ng regalo.

Sa Ambassador Appliances at Park Square 1:

WH 2 Center = 2,000
WH 2 Bi Pole surround = 2,800

If you buy as a set, P3,950.

Honestly don't know if they discontinued this, but feedback from those who bought the item was always a good buy for the price.

There was only one person who said that he wasn't satisfied with the WH Surrounds kasi bumibigay daw sa ni-try niya na "Air Force One."  Parang hindi kinaya ng rears yung ugong ng eroplano.

Ako naman, I post another question on the WH-2 Surrounds vs Diamond 9SRs.

Yung WH2 bipolar, right?  pero yung SR, direct firing.  Hmmm... Parang mas gusto ko ata yung bipolar eh.

Anyone who cares to comment?

Thanks!

for starters OK na ang WH2,actually Ive been using mine for quite sometime now and di ko na rin pinalitan, never had regrets...it serves its purpose very well, tono lang mabuti ung setup para tumunog ng maayos.

same opinion. it's reasonable for it's price specially for newbies in this hobby. di sya ganun kabigat sa bulsa makakapag invest ka pa sa magandang amp. but if you're not on a budget it's a different thing  ;D .

im happy with my WH2 kaya ngyung 13th month pay TV nalang i-uupgrade ko!  ;D

Goodluck!

i just got a wh-2 center and surrounds. i was just planning to get the surrounds only but the price is 3k and the center is 2k, 4k if you get them both at spectra park square. sound is good enough for a newbie like me but im planning to change the center to a mordaunt short carnival 5 coz that is what im really planning.

is it okay to put the center speaker on a vertical position?

You'd be amazed at the debates in some AV forums about the effective lobing problems in D'Appolito arrayed speakers that prompt many pundits to argue on whether they sound better horizontally or vertically oriented.

BTW, D'Appolito is the more technical description of many center speakers with Mid-Tweet-Mid arrangement (after the name of the guy who first came out with such a driver arrangement).  They are not limited to centers, as there are plenty of L and R speakers with the same array positioned vertically (they were intended to be vertical actually.)   Some say the horizontal m-t-m driver array in centers is more an aesthetic and convinience considertation so they can be put on top of TVs.

So without having to go into further discussions, yes, a vertically positioned m-t-m center speaker is just fine.
