Bought this simple, plastic hobby drill set at Deeco last Friday for pcb drilling... ayun napagtripan ko na tuloy i-modify...
As you can see, the switch is at the top of the drill, kinda awkward to press the drill and reach for the switch...
So I decided to modify the handle and integrate a normally open switch so that one hand can press the drill and at the same time activate the drill too... There's a nasty spark when the switch is engaged so I used a mosfet to prolong the life of my normally open switch like forever.
and there it is, the handle-switch assembly fits my hands nicely and the switch is ergonomically located for easy operation...
next "trippin" would be to build and integrate an automatic motor torque sensor so that the speed of the drill remains constant with and without load. an LED light from CDR-King would also fit nicely for lighting purposes...
have a nice weekend everyone!
