Jo, your choice of welding machine is good. Rilon is one of my first choices (well wanted the Miller pero way out of range sa budget) before I got my TIG welding machine. Maganda performance nyan plus magada rin ang support though wala pa akong alam na nasira.
Welcome back brad.... pareho tayo medyo out of commission.

Ok siya brader, from purlins to 1/4" angle bars wala ako sakit ng ulo. Pwedeng pwede mag project ng trusses ito. Nun binili ko yan meron ako nakita unit na nalubog sa baha, nilinis lang mabuti gumana pa ulit. Kaya di na ako nagdalawang isip pa, ayos ang support ng Rilon. ;D

Thanks brader, almost 3 months walang action CNC ko...

No problem. I wasn't able to precisely meter out the consumption but 6 days of purlin welding, gate fabrication and the electric bill only rose by 400 Pesos. It's very efficient, but if you only use it to weld cores and other light jobs then your traditional welding machine should be more than enough. Portable nga lang ito brad.

Medjo OT pero question, kaya ba naging inverter system yun Rilon is because it converts AC to DC? Or because may iba pang technology behind it.

Yes and no I think. The way they explained it to me was apart from the AC to DC conversion, which is part of an SMPS power supply whose output is an IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor) instead of the usual mosfet. The inverting process happens when they switch the DC within the SMPS. Being transformerless, it's very efficient and very portable.

Again it's IGBT ha... not LGBT. ;)

For those who PM'd me, here's the picture... dito ko na ipost hirap isa isa PM...

The current adjustment is simple, may knob at digital readout. ;D

Since it's a DC welding machine, one can either weld in DCEN (electrode negative), or DCEP (electrode positive). I find this techniques very useful in welding thin gauge materials.

Hope this helps.

That's tukayo for both clarifications. :D

I got the idea na. Baka nga the use of SMPS for conversion to DC. Meron na din palang ganyan. How much ang damage jan tukayo? Maraming potential yan technology na yan tukayo for power supply!!!

The last clarification is very important tukayo. ;D

I honestly can't remember the exact amount but it's between 12K and 15K, I also bought some other stuff kasi like welding mask, rods, etc. The supplier also services the units in case of any problems.

Yup, for applications requiring power, IGBT talaga (I-G-B-T). The unit pays for itself because it's very efficient, liit lang binayaran ko sa kuryente sa last project ko.
