yup pre! may switch sya sa likod DVD - VCD pag naka DVD sys 5.1  d sabay-sabay tumunog.... tapos pag VCD sabay-sabay.

Yung Xenon ko kasi may speaker testing for
FR-FL-Center-SR-SL... maririnig mo talaga na umiikot yung sound at hindi sumasabay yung ibang speaker sa tunog.

i read somewhere that someone bought a rongxin 5.1 pero may marking na "RT/LT" and then when they tested it at home, hindi naman 5.1 ang effect kundi lahat sabay sabay lang.

atomiczen did say his rongxin has a switch for 2 channels and 5.1 channels for the rongxin 89dv, however he again said that whatever switched mode it goes, SABAY SABAY ANG LABAS NG SOUND SA SPEAKERS.

di ba, parang mali ito?

advice?

CHEAP 5.1 SPEAKERS AT RAON
I bought a rongxin 88dv speakers at raon. I chose it over the 89dv because of the size of its subwoofer. At first i was quite impressed with the sound because of its powerful bass.

Got the thing  hooked it up on my dvd. It has inputs for FR FL CENTER SURROUND And SW. Im not too keen on audio, as long as it sounds fine, then its ok with me

It sounded fine. a month later, i decided to check my connections.I found out that the 88DV wasnt 5.1 after all.  They've downmixed the center channel on all fours.

I disconnected the Surround rca jacks. and SOUND CAN STILL BE HEARD!  The joke was on me i guess.

A word of advice on those who are contemplating on the RONGXIN 88DV.....DONT BUY IT!!

Upon close scrutiny, the bass is ok and so are the highs but the mids suffer terribly. before buying "5.1" speakers from raon, i suggest you turn down the SUB VOLUME so that youll get an idea what the mids and highs sound like.

The rule still holds true here:
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR (there are exceptions, of course)

Went to megamalll this afternoon.

Went to listening room to check out the microlab 6.1 speakers and i listened to it. 6k ito, mura kung iisipin kumpara sa ibang ht, KAYA LANG manipis din yung MID nya. mukha lang maganda kasi digital yung controls, itim at parang mabigat yung satellites.

Tapos pumunta ako sa columbia superstore. They're selling 5.1 speakers, SONIX yung tatakor was it SHINCO? doesn matter kasi it sounded like CRAP!
As usual Walang mids

Then, over at western i saw this set of 5.1 speakers from XENON. the clerk said it's their latest model. Mukhang malakas at may stands pa yung rear satellites. di ko na napasound test kasi nagmamadali ako. for P5100, is it a worthy buy?

I had the xenon 5.1 (retail price around P5,190)sound checked at abensons rob manila. The verdict? It's a decent buy for those of you looking for a budget 5.1 set.

The store clerk popped in an audio cd, and i was pleasantly surprised with the results.  This is a good choice for those of you with a limited budget and limited space. It wont rock the house. pang kwarto lang baga.

There are controls for adjusting the front, rear, sub, and center channels.

2 stands are attached to the rear speakers, and i find it quite short. it just stands 2 ft. tall. to enjoy true HT entertaiment, it has to be ear level. The stands are ok IF YOU ARE DWARF.

Conclusion:

PROS:

-GREAT SOUND
-DECENT PRICE
-WARRANTY BY MANUFACTURER

CONS
- NOT EARTH SHAKING (pang kuwarto lang)
- STANDS ARE USELESS

But then again these are just my opinion. Check it out for yourself and get a closer look

According to Sound and Vision, the surround must be 3 ft above ear level.

That's correct. That is why when I bought the same model for my parents setup, I did make those 2 stands as the fronts, and just bought 2 speaker holder and used it to placed the other 2 surround speakers on the wall (2-3 feet above ear level).

Also, changed the built-in ordinary speaker wires to size 14 oxygen free hi-fi speaker wires.

It rocks!  ;D

before i was planning din to buy a set of rongxin 89dv for HT experience and because of its good review (see rongxin thread). but now, bec of some expert advice hir @ pdvd, im contemplating on buying a pair of dtx bookshelf or tower to be paired with integrated amp w tuner instead. y? simply bec i know dtx will stay with me 4 a long period of time & i can upgrade this gear little by little. aside from the fact that it's one of the most sought after speaker brand bec of its performance, durability & affordability. in the long run mas tipid 2 kaysa sa cheap na 5.1 tapos after several months sira na.

just an insight  ;D

i have been using the Xenon 5.1 for almost a year , good enough for a simple set-up, modest sound and ample bass for a 100 sqm or less room, specially using DTS DVDs

kaya lang when you get used it, parang naghahanap ka na ng upgrade

5.1 PC speakers or Generic 5.1 speakers..
hello to all,

i'm planning to buy a generic DVD player with 5.1 analog output and built in DD, DTS decoders

just want to ask, which is better, entry level 5.1 PC speakers like logitech x 530, or generic 5.1 speakers like promac?
i'd like to use them for the DVD player..

which is better in terms of sound quality, loudness and clearness of the sounds?

do generic speakers produce true 5.1 sound?

and can you give me a list of generic speakers with true 5.1 sound with model name, and their prices?
I have a tight budget kc e..

many thanks, i'm a newbie in HT setups eh
