Mission Impossible

Light your fuses. Paramount's mission, if you choose to accept it, is to release Mission Impossible: Special Collector's Edition and Mission Impossible: The Complete First Season in April. No specs on either yet, but we already know that a new anamorphic transfer has been created for the first MI film. Expect more details and cover art coming soon!

Further Details:
Paramount Home Entertainment has sent over artwork for a new collector's edition of Mission Impossible which stars Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, Ving Rhames and Emmanuelle Beart. The disc will be available to own from the 11th April, and should retail at around $19.99. I'm afraid we have no word on extra material for this one yet, but you can almost certainly expect a nice new anamorphic widescreen transfer. We'll bring you the full spec rundown shortly.

no confirmation yet on whether MI:2 will be a new version.

Im having second thoughts of getting these special editions on April. They might come out with a trilogy boxset once MI3 is out on dvd. That is if MI3 will be the last movie.

Finally!! Wasn't the first release a single layer disc? with no speaical features
I remember that was the reason i stayed with my DD 5.1 laserdisc.

Yup. The first release is barebone. Video's not anamorphic. For me, I'll definitely get this one to replace it. I'm still having second thought though in getting the Set or the new MI:2. I didn't like the sequel and I'll guess it'll depend on MI:3 if it will influence me to complete all releases.
