Center Speakers as Main Speakers
« on: Aug 12, 2007 at 06:24 PM »
Has anyone tried using 2 center speakers as front speakers? We know that center speakers are designed for vocals on a 5.1 ch set-up. It has two midbass drivers and a tweeter.

How would it perform as main speakers especially for music application with vocals.

Thanks for any info.

well, first... they're severely low-end limited. haven't seen a center speaker that goes to sub-40 hz @3db. second, for economic reasons they're not that practical. wharfe 9.cs na lang, a pair would cost about 11k already, in the direct vicinity of the diamond 9.5... an excellent floorstander. but this isn't to say you can't use them as such. i myself would be interested to hear maybe an all 9.cs setup, with sub syempre.
