Hi Blaupunkt,

Thanks.
when i was auditioning PJs, had the chance to see H27 optoma dlp projector.  it was priced then at 70k plus, researched and saw that it scored a 94 sa home theater magazine. though native 480p lang sya, PQ is quite good, it was also judged as one of the best entry level PJs.  m sure bumaba na rin to.  nung di nemo sa akin ng S & S sa shang, they were also giving me ceiling mount for free.....i bet mga 60k plus na lang to..... ;D

Hi Sirs,

Is EP-716 okay for a under 60k budget for a beginner? I plan to get it this week, is this better than Infocus X2?
I believe this is not a HT series but okay din, auditioned it earlier w/ SGT and it looks okay.

Please help. Many thanks!!! ;)

Finally got my EP-7161 Optoma. got really surprised when I compared it to X2 and H27, although it is not really for HT, but price performance multi-purpose projection,.its a lot better than X2 and almost the same as H27, but a lot more cheaper. I think this will be the one for those who doesn't have that huge budget and yet will give you the awesome thrill, crisp and clear. i am really satisfied.

It took me 2wks trying to get the best deal, Sonny Tuazon of Home Theater is the MAN!

if you want a 720p dlp, H72 is quoted at around 140k.

Calling owners of the H27 :) please post your reviews

Looking at the H27, Epson TW20 & the Infocus 4805 (insanely someone is selling a second hand model for only 25k with just 200 hours used on the lamp!)

Panny AE900 sana or the Hitachi equivalent pero over budget na......bibili pa ako ng denon dvd player eh :D

I know the H27 is the most expensive of the lot pero gusto ko siya because pwede siya lagyan ng HDMI connection.......audition muna at baka me or my wife is susceptible to DLP's rainbow effect ;D.....

Thanks ;D

EP-716 Optoma is just right for me, since I changed to VGA-Component, (i use to have S-VIDEO) the difference is very obvious, more brighter in the dark and the tru-color appeared. 2of my friend already got this model, for a 51k to shell out, not bad. I also considered the after sales, Optoma have a cheaper bulb and great reviews for this model. The difference between X2 and Epson's EMP (not sure about the model) when they had a demo at home, this one is much much better. I dont see any rainbow effect for now, hope it lasts this way. my screen is 84x84 and can project up to 100x100 given its long throw and high ansi-lumens (1800), hope to post my pics here. Just getting to know how.

I was originally to get ae-900 for 91k, but when I knew that Panasonic just got into PJ's 2001, i had to go to the pioneers. Just did a little mathematics, now I have a pj, and was able to get a 2 seater Ht seat (similar to LazyBoy w/ reclines & italian leather) for 100K.

Try to audition, hope you will like it w/ not much to spend.

Bro,

Kapag front PJ you have a projector unit beaming an image on a white wall or projector screen......a rear PJ looks like a normal tv naka box in yung projector and it beams the image to a translucent screen...pasensiya na not too technical....the Panasonic AE900 is a front PJ (LCD Technology)while the Samsung 42L6HR is an example of a Rear PJ (DLP Technology)......browse the other forums especially the members HT Picture Gallery and you will see the different Front PJs and Rear PJs that the members have.....

Hope I was of help ;D or nalito ka lang lalo ???

You can also use a front projector to beam it into a screen in front of it and then the viewer is behind the screen.  But the screen daw is as expensive as the projector.  ???  I have seen this in Listening Room in Rockwell but wasn't really impressed with the video quality.  :-\
