Replaced my Bedroom Panasonic 42PV70 with this....

Panasonic 50X30S

*compared it with the LG 50PA4500 side by side. The LG had the killer looks (razor frame) and at first had blacker blacks but as of closer scrutiny, the colors were more pale than the Panasonic. It had the same character as the Samsung plasma I saw at the store so I surmise the panels are similar. Never did like Samsung because of durability issues. So that summarizes my decision. Talking about Panasonic's track record on durability, I still have my old PV70 and PV8 delivering outstanding performance up to this day.

Brader Jim, photo edited yan kasi di ko pa natweak ang settings out of the box. Matapang ang colors on the default settings and it needed some calibration pa. Picturan ko ulit pag naayos ko na.

*I haven't explored yet the other features such as the media player, streamer, internet and LAN capabilities. This is a 50 inch plasma but with only a 720p resolution. The PQ isn't as sharp as one would expect from a full HD panel given the size of the screen. The merits would be the blacks i.e. after some calibration and the color rendition which I think would give a lot of weight in one's decision making. Not to mention Panasonic's track record in durability and quality of plasma TVs.

Onga eh. Based on experience when watching movies, hd audio and lossy dd/dts would be hard to be distinguished. Sa concerts lang medyo masasabi kong may malaking difference.

I was just happy to see the hd formats show in the display of my receiver.
