I picked up a Xenon 630 from Abenson last May 21, still ok, keeping fingers crossed. I did buy 24-month warranty option of Abenson for P600. Anybody have experience with their service promise?

I bought my xenon as my 3rd dvd player purposely as an answer to those hard-to-read dvd software. Answer ba or problema?  >:D

Yup, my xenon 630 is 100% compatible so far. For badly scratched dvds, it does pixelate, but then it later corrects. My biggest issue is that the picture quality is really lousy. Even for originals, it seems like your watching an old movie. There is flickering, but bearable. I don't want to exchange it just yet, I might end up with an even worst unit. I am banking on the 24month warranty of Abenson (correcting my last message).

picture quality seems fine on a JVC 29 interart via component out. not extraordinary though.

i was offered an additional warranty period at extra hundreds but i refused the offer. i have given the unit a one year service life expectancy but i was really disappointed that it didn't reach one month. I got a lemon  >:D

Pa repair mo na, under warranty naman. Sayang lang ang oras. Balitaan mo kami. Dapat siguro may thread din on the best service centers. Di ba ang experience ng repair man is a factor?

I will try the component connection din, thanks. I was using the s-video jack.

I got our player from the shop where they "aligned" the lense and its still  not working properly. When I play a disc, it skips and makes a squeaking sound as if the disc surface was being scratched!  Strangely, when it was tested at  the shop, it was working fine. But when I got home...Haaaay! Kailangang ibalik nanaman sa shop, medyo malaki pa naman ginastos namin!

so their solution is "alignment"? was it ever fixed? how much did it cost you?

I finally solved my ENTER/Play/pause button problem while trying to access the featurettes during the enhanced viewing mode of the R1 Planet of the Apes (you cannot use the play/pause button to select the icon). You must use the number buttons to access the featurette, in this case press the number 1 button. :D ;)

hi, new here.. so you mean to say that this xenon players are good buy vs all the generic brands? i just confuse, coz i'm planning to buy a dvd player too.. Did you test all the function of the player? like divX, wma, dvd-r, dvdr-w, cd-r, cdr-w, mp3, dts, jpeg, prologic II, progresive scan, 5.1ch ready, auto volt, etc.. i just saw it at anson's makati today 3,690 is the price..  what's good is under the pioneer brand and service center, made in china. 1 year warranty... does it heats well or hangs? tnx..

do it right, the 1st time

The Xenon I bought is already 3 years old na. It does on occasion hang on a few dvds. Being the older model, la pa syang div-x and wma playing capabilities. :)

Hi!  I'll be buying my very first portable dvd player, mainly for car use so that my son won't have tantrums everytime we are in a long drive.

What's the latest news with XENON, ok pa rin ba siya?
