@Munskie
thanks for the tip mate. from now on ill ask every av store ill pass by. ;D

@Ritchie
Thanks again pre for the panny ae900 setup. Very well appreciated. Btw, naisentro kona din yung panny image sa tolda,lol  ;D binabaan ko lng keystone ok na sya. Umm about amazon, mahal na masyado pang matagal arrival nyn bka nsa province ndin ako nyn e. ;D I'm just hoping to get a user friendly calibration disc, yung simple lang but very effective in increasing my picture quality. kaya im hoping makakita ako sa mga av stores here in manila para less hassle and matesting kona how effective it is before ko dalhin all my gears there.

Saw this great idea on placement of Front PJ's

You could also put a 6th channel behind you. And your gears of course.

bro, connect your dvd players coaxial or optical output to your receiver for your audio.  then directly connect the hdmi output of your dvd player (kung meron sya hdmi output) to the pannyae900 for the video.  kung wala, component video connection ka na lang.    :)

Bros. may I further clarify --- the component video carries only the video signal, while the HDMI i think, (tama ba ako?) carries both the audio and video signals? so if you use this, will this not automatically terminate the audio coming via digital? tnx  ::)

ok -- good and thanks bro Munskie. So i think this is also true to all players sporting HDMI connections. just turn off the audio of the projector maybe.  ;)

i was decided na sana on the benq w100 for the size and the price, until i saw someone selling his panny ae900 for P50k. according to him 50 hrs. used pa lang daw. still to inspect the unit tomorrow. worth it na kaya ito at the price considering the AX100 is going for sub-70k these days? kung di lang nagtitipid na rin ako.... and the ax100 seems to really be a big box for my small ht area.  :(

also, survey na rin po sa mga naka-ae900, aside from diy which i don't have the time to do... ano pong screens ang gamit nyo?

Mag AX100 nalang kayo mga friends, P65,000 nalang ito HDMI input pa, you can test it at Theater Works Trinoma, bring your dvd films, kung meron kayong blueray na favorite film bring it also and test the unit for yourself. Performace is flawless. ;)

wow.... pababa ng pababa. hehe.

sir, yun bang ae900 wala nang stock? kasi ang laki yata ng dimensions niya for my small HT room. ang baba ng WAF niya. no question about the performance of the ax100 though. yung size ng w100 ang ideal sana, kaya lang SD/ED resolution naman. compromise na for me yung size ng ae900.  i might drop by your place po tomorrow to check out the unit.

The last time someone bought this(ax100) 77K pa!  Ano bang nangyayari sa atin ;D, parang nakakaenganyo mag upgrade, HD na ;D. Except for the iris problem, mukhang marami pa rin going for hd pj's.

nakakagulat di ba? i was about decided na to get the same pj as yours - the w100 nga. for my budget, i felt this is a good starter unit to get my feet wet in the world of front pj's. 37k for the benq as compared mo naman sa ax100 which i know to cost 78k at the going rate then. so when i saw the pt-ae900 nga which was being offered for 50k, i thought it was a very good price already for a barely used 1280x720p celebrated projector. asking around for the price of a new pt-ae900, someone offered me the ax100 for 69k. wow, nagulat ako knowing it's still being sold at 77-78k pa nga. ngayon, 65k na lang pala. (not that 65k is chump change, ha)?

I agree.......mine is going at 600 hours already and even using it in my gaming for PS3.........loyal Panny na ako when it comes to PJs.   Logical upgrade for non-Panny users is ax-100.   In my end, I have to decide if I can afford the ae1100....or just buy a replacement bulb............ang layo ng price eh...15k vs 180k???

Sige sir, drop by anytime naka ps3 yung unit dun. I'm using hdmi input at 1080i palang malinaw na sobra. Although I have a special screen dun, kahit gamitin natin tela lang malinaw talaga. Black is black! a black is not Grey!;)

the only problem with this unit is, the edge enhancement is not defeatable. It is always there, even if you turn down the sharpness all the way down...... it makes letters especially end credits to be having some sort of halo around their edges. But thats the the only one thing that I don't like about the panny.

aha... yan din una kong napansin sa newly acquired 2nd hand panny ko. parang sobra yung edge enhancement nga. akala ko it just because i'm using component cable pa lang.

anyway, ok lang kaya sa PJ na ito kahit hindi aircon yung room kung saan siya naka-install? parang mainit kasi talaga yung lumalabas na hangin from the exhaust vent.

update: about the edge enhancement... it's only most noticeable lang pala sa "dynamic" picture mode (the most useless mode, very unnatural), and maybe sa "video" mode din. seems it's not even applied sa mga "cinema" modes. very filmlike. tama nga sir alvinthx... the upscaling capabilities of the panny pj is very good. seldom do i see really objectionable jaggies even sa mga low bitrate dvd's ko.

i was watching nga kanina sa isang philips 42" plasma and an lcd din sa glorietta... and yes, the picture was clear and crispy. but then... you realize it's still video pa rin. at home... i pop a dvd movie,  set pic mode to one of the cinema modes, set lens zoom to the widest to fit the screen... and it's like being in a movie theater talaga. pop a concert dvd... set pj to "normal" or "video" mode, and you're transported to a concert hall. aaah... heaven!  :D

all i dread now is the day the lamp is the one to go *POP*.   :'(

It can accept 1080 but downscale it to fit into its native 720p sir.
