where do you guys buy your projectors?  Do they offer O% interest payable in 12 or more months?

I'm really interested in getting one ... but can't do it in one bulk payment.

maybe this can help:   http://www.projectorcentral.com

DLPs used to reign in terms of black level and contrast but more pricey compared to LCDs. But the gap closed with the release of AE900 & Z4 sporting high resolution(1280 native), higher contrast ratio, video quality & performance that exceeds DLPs. So, 'value for hard earned 13th mo. + bonus' ;D I'll go for the AE900.
Thanks a lot!Sir

Sorry bro, its not available anymore. Its a compilation done by 12 pinoydvd members who contributed their DVDs to make this project possible. Sharing or copying of any sort is not allowed. Each disk is actually personalized to avoid any copying.

Guys, If you will ever be using a htpc to drive this projector I suggest that you use the HDMI input via a DVI to HDMI cable... This will allow you to turn off overscan and be able to get 1:1 pixel mapping...Which allow you to display the available  HD content from the net in all it's hi -def glory... :) w/out compromises

informative, but in my experience, different DVD players give different picture qualities. Some are brighter and more colorful than others.

So I am not so sure if this would be useful for me.

how do you set up the projector? on a ceiling mount or just on a table in the room? the screens that are being sold are they freestanding or do you have to mount them on the ceiling?.......lot of questions kasi I just did the math and definitely mas practical ang front projector.......sino may set-up na front PJ na pwede ma dalaw para makita ko lang how much work is needed to set-up the PJ properly...sana somebody with a panny ae900 para sabay audition two birds with one stone ba....

I put mine on a shelf at the back, since its got a zoom function, it could be placed almost anywhere.

Setting up wasnt much of a problem. Just screw the screen to the front wall. Put the PJ on a shelf, do some focusing/zooming and its done. My component cable was already hidden in the ceilings in advance.

munskie also has a similar setup with the AE900 at the HT gallery thread.

Can you post the dimensions of the room and how big a screen you are projecting the AE900 on to, the room I'm planning to use as an HT room may be too small to accomodate a front pj...sayang naman kung bili ako ng front pj tapos 42" lang pala ang optimum screen size ng room ko or ok lang ba yon?

Sir MatZ,

Yung HT room mo is that DIY only? or did you get professional help?

Looked at the earlier posts mayroon palang nakalagay na room dimensions.....

My problem was I still had my 50" (4 x3) Toshiba RPTV in the living room blocking my  70" screen.  Di pa mabenta .So what I did was gumawa kami ng DIY screen using blockout cloth on a 53" x 30 " wooden frame. Making a 60" wide screen. ( cost was less than P500)

I just placed the DIY screen in front of the toshiba and now I have a 60" wide (diagonal) Screen , Just right for my current viewing distance.  If I want to use the TV it's like just moving a picture frame as the screen is so light. And when I am able to relocate the TV or sell it . I have the bigger screen to use.

Also I have 2 connections on my AE900 one is DVD to component using a Philips 642 and another is HDMI from a HTPC Dvi connector... And the difference is really big ,specially that I am able to watch native 720p or 1080i material  using the HTPC. Or maybe the Philips is just very crappy.

We had a really hard time selling our RPTV as well, even at very low prices.

Drac: the HT room was all DIY and months of research on acoustic principles. I am too "kurips" to get any professional help (psychologist baka pwede  ;D)

The 100 inches diagonal, 84x84 screen viewing is ok at 3.5 m viewing distance. I dont know if its a factor, but I use a 720p/1080i dvd player, so watching it at that distance isnt dizzying at all. All our guests were comfortable with the viewing distance.

Thanks for the info....nakalimutan ko na yung specs ng dvd player ko pero sana it would make a good match with the ae900.  Not too keen on acoustic treatments kasi baka temporary lang yung HT room pag nagkakids kami demoted to the living room na yung HT(another reason why nagdadalawang isip ako to get a front PJ might have trouble controlling lighting in the living room) until I can add another room to the house to accomodate an HT room.  Sana my wife likes the room so much bawasan na lang yung planned kids hehe.
