Sound System Speakers
« on: Mar 12, 2007 at 12:43 PM »
Pls. suggest a complete indoor sound system for events/parties use. I'm presently running an LCD projector rental and am planning to have sound system business of my own. My budget is only around 50K

I'm looking at Behringer mixers, Shure mics. Should I go with powered speakers or go with separate power amps and speaker combos? Which brands?

Thanks a lot.

hi sir jazz

it really depends on how big your events are but for simple parties, about 100 pax i just use a pair of powered speakers (jbl eons or behringer b300), usually a 4 mic input mixer would suffice, a cd player for playback, but for corporate events like 1000 persons you may just get reinforcement from big PA companies, behringer is a good entry level brand and with care they should be ok

Thanks bro.

I'm leaning on separate power amps so I can also use them for my HT Setup.

I've heard that QSC amps are right up there, I wonder which speakers are a good match.

QSC amps are good i had a MX700 which is good for mid as well as for high's. but be careful they are really power hungry, you might need a line conditioner like Furman PLC.

Thanks.  I'm also leaning on speakers (4pcs) small enough to fit an SUV.

Are Wharfedale Pro series any good for starters?

havent tried them, but either BOSE 402's or 802's partnered with 502's are good compact's for mini reinforcement's. but JBL EONS are best for small to mid venues really "LOUD and CLEAR"

hi sir jazz

for amps i would highly recommend QSC, they're tough and got good sound quality, i got a pair of QSC rmx1850s and they never die on me, for passive speakers havent tried the wharfdale pro, but i think they would do just fine but i could recommend the B3 brand they're china made but they serve well, as for branded you could go with JBL JRX series theyre the cheapest JBL can offer

BTW got an event this sun @ astoria plaza you could take a peek so you can have an idea :D
