High current amplification refers to an amplifier's ability to deliver sufficient power despite drastic reduction in impedance loads.
When impedance load is halved, the ideal situation is that power output should double. High current amplifiers can handle lower impedances with ease. Low current amps will have difficulty coping with the higher power demand of lower impedances. Insufficient power output causes distortion, and the amp should automatically shut down for its own protection.
Yamaha's "ToP-ART" means "Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology". It's the name Yamaha has given to its design philopsophy. The ToP-ART design philosophy's goal is to produce more natural sound by using better chassis insulation, the shortest possible signal path, and better internal wiring. Simply stated -- the purer the signal, the more natural the sound; and the more natural, the better.
"Digital ToP-ART" refers to the application of ToP-ART design philosophy to digital sound reproduction.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to "ToP-ART" and "Digital ToP-Art". Those terms probably came from Yamaha's marketing department, not from its engineering team.

Magaling ang marketing nila, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Thanks to mass-market companies like Yamaha, we get good products at low prices.
