hd72 is around 140k.
if you have a high ceiling hd72 is better due to the big offset.
in76 is 'supposed' to have better calibration/picture out of the box.

i think the zoom ratio for the h72 is just arouns 1.2x, assuming you have a 106 inch screen, you can only put the projector at around 10 to 12 ft from the screem while the pt ae900, you could work with a distance of approx. 11 to 21 ft

i agree, pt ae900 is the best value for money available in the philippines. The sanyo z4 and mitsubishi hc3000, hitachi 200 and optoma h72 are also very good but their relative Philippine street prices are not that enticing compared to their counterpart prices in the US.

For me po, mas maganda sa tingin ko ang DLP kaysa LCD projector  :)

DLP PJs produce better blacks, but budget DLP PJs suffer from  rainbow effect.  This effect though may or may not be noticeable or distracting to the viewer.  LCD's weaknesses, black level and screendoor effect have been properly addressed in the panny ae900....and for its price may rival pricier DLPs....just my two cents though.. ;D

uy...wag mo kalimutan ipost yung ht mo sa gallery ha  ;D

for me...
pic quality - dlp-> you've got to see it
flexibility - lcd -> lens shift and better zoom
build - dlp -> dahil sa sealed optics
value - panny  ;)

Because of the way the panny has addressed the weaknesses in LCD as MUnskie has pointed out  ;) (i.e. black levels and the lcd "screendoor" or "chicken wire" effect it is sometimes called) the panny is the best value especially with its current price.....one weakness of lcd is the remote possibility of dead pixels being so bad that it would affect the PQ but noted that a couple of friends have purchased the older models of the panny ae series on ebay and all of them have displayed no visible effects from dead pixels so i guess the panny is trully excellent value but it still boils down to your preference......I think it was nerveblocker who liked the dlp picture but was so affected by the rainbow effect that he went and got an LCD projector......so don't just rely on what reviews say or even the guys in our forum go out and audition your choices ;)....

yup, it really boils down on your preference lalo na kung nakapag audition ka na.  I remember the time before the panny ae900 went out, i seriously considered getting a DLP pj, an optoma h27.  The guys at Sights n Sound in shang gave me an audtion, and i was impressed by its price and PQ, even beating a pricier hitachi model (forgot the model, but priced at 98k compared to 70k of optoma) that they also showed me.  The thing that convinced me to wait for the panny was that the h27 was not HD ready (480p native).  Though i wasnt able to audition the panny ae900, I did some research, and also audtioned its predecessor, the ae700....and was totally convinced that it is the PJ for me.  And i think DLP PJs that are HD ready are much pricier than the panny ae900.  Again my two cents worth of info... ;D

Try to also read the article HT Projector Shootout in HMW Magazine April 2006 issue.  This might give you also an idea of how HT projectors fare with other brands.  ;D
