Vintage HarmanKardon Receivers & Amps
« on: May 07, 2006 at 06:51 PM »
sirs...

any kosa with vintage HK amps/receivers?
HK's sentimental coz HK 570i first receiver ko.
so HK din first vintage receiver ko :)
i think hk930 (1973-1975) was the totl model of that series

sound? "analog/tubey", sweet n warm, clear n detailed but with great bass. excellent FM too.

- HK 930 -
45wpc twin-powered receiver (separate power supply for each channel / mono-mono?)
117v * 60hz * 350w max
harman kardon inc. - plainview, N.Y.; USA
made in JAPAN

with main-in/preamp-out (my favorite feature = flexibility)  ;D
the amp and preamp section are very good as standalones.
i've tried T.amp as power amp HK as preamp and
HK as power amp partnered with yamaha avr preamp processor

ichiedelarosa....underated talaga hk power pero never kinukulang pag nangailangan
                       swerte lang ako sa 930 bro ;D ;D ;D

minor cosmetic chinks- lamps, knobs at nawala AM  (but FM superb!)
mode selector at balance namamahay pa minsan ok minsan hindi but great overall sound - whether used as receiver or as standalone amp or standalone preamp paired with other gears.

sana madami pang vintage HK lumabas (citation ?)  8) 8) 8)

Well I have a working Harman Kardon 230 receiver... way down there in the series.
Also an HK Citation Eleven and Twelve. The preamp is working. I haven't gotten around to having the power amp repaired.

hi, jagner.  thats a nice valve amp.  saw your amp has  chromed chassis.  meron sa ebay.ph, receiver nyan thats selling for 10k!

Yup,  saw it baka 'yan yung kambal nung HK 224 ko.  I got my unit 6 years ago from sensible audio  :D  This is how I got myself into the "tube" sound.   ;)  By the way I had the cover as well as the heat sinks chromed  :D

downloaded and printed the hk930 technical and owners manual with schematic diagram...

sarap tuloy ipa-todo recondition kaya lang enjoy ko muna ;D

sir jagner...tama ka, pag nakarinig ng vintage tranny na tunog tubo, it really points towards the long and winding road to audio nirvana- tubes / analog?

d ba news kangina, nakakabaog daw ang cd ? ;D ;D ;D
