Heard CW did not pick up this series. Is another networking doing so?

That's possible. They aired the Aqua episode of Smallville along with the latest season finale and some critics were disappointed. They were more favorable to the Cyborg episode. Personally, I'd go for the Flash episode from season four.

Got hold of the pilot early today. Now, I'm not surprised it wasn't picked up. It was that bad, not even bad enough to be campy. It deserves to be buried in the sea.

The pilot episode had a lot of potential. Being a fan of Smallville, I was looking forward to seeing its creators bring the same creativity to Aquman. Too bad it wasn't picked up.

LOL. it wasn't that bad. but i now see why the series wasn't picked up.

there was definitely room for improvement... especially in the writing and the acting. except for a.c., atlanna  and eve, everyone pretty much tanked.  :-\

I disagree with almost all the opinions here. I rather enjoyed it. Definitely way better than at least two of the shows The CW picked up - 7th Heaven and One Tree Hill. I felt it was a lot more intriguing than anything that's been done on Smallville in the past few seasons (except Erica Durance, of course).

My main problem with the pilot was actually Justin Hartley. I don't know. I just felt like he graduated from the Gabby Concepcion School of Acting. It was like watching a piece of narra.

Although I do feel Millar-Gough could've camped it up just a little bit. They're fond of stunt casting, anyway - like the John Schneider-Tom Wopat-General Lee "reunion" on Smallville. So I was thinking they really should've cast Patrick Duffy in the Ving Rhames role. After all, Duffy is The Man From Atlantis, right?  ;D

LOL... that series actually flashed in my head as i was watching the underwater scenes. (i remember wishing as kid i had webbed hands and feet like mark harris ... i know, crazy! LOL.)

like i said, it wasn't half bad. but ving rhames was just too... uhm, "wooden". (and i totally blame that on the writing.) and denise quiñones ... pretty to look at, but just no substance. watch the hospital scene again, she totally hammed it. i disagree with justin hartley tho... i think he played it just right given the bad script he was given. plot. good. script. bad. (i couldn't help but chuckle when nadia, the siren, actually said the words "ha- ha-" during her fight with a.c... WTF??! this isn't a pirate movie?!)

best acting has to go to amber macdonald, who played eva... she played it just right and spoke naturally. not at all like she was "delivering lines". and might i say that daniella who played atlanna is stunning.  ;D

there was so much room to grow... too bad that won't happen anymore. :(

If the leak were deliberate, they might be aiming for another Nobody's Watching kind of success. They have to replace most of the cast though. There's a rumor that James Cameron might end up making the movie after all.

i doubt it... justin hartley is already slated to play "green arrow" for 8 episodes in the new season of smallville.

Then they'd be free to hire a more credible actor.

It was supposedly a sure go on The WB network when the pilot was ordered, but when The WB merged with UPN and became The CW, the new network decided not to pick it up.
