I disagree! your speakers are quite good and you are one of those who have IMO, cleverly done correct matching w/ a mid level speaker & a mid level receiver! Siguro they are all good nga naman kasi.  :)

thanks :)

most of the modes are really good, so its really hard to compare unless you know diff you need to look out for.

which brings me to the question.. when is the 706 coming out? :P

And the winner is.....

verdict to follow after a month of use  ;D

I have to reiterate that they are ALL GOOD though, each in their own way (or diskarte), the verdict will be just my subjective personal preference among their strengths.

Geez, this is such a costly curiosity, ROFL.

congrats matz, ang bilis ng turnaround ng mga gears mo.

Thanks, I am starting to wonder why I keep doing this, I dont even plan to go HD soon.

congrats matt......  :)

Thanks, Onkyo 875 sana, but too expensive na, hehe.

someone offered me an 805 for only 55k (parallel import), but I didnt get it , since I do not need the burr brown dacs ( my audio is separate). I also dont need the "powerful" :P push pull amps since I am never going back to receiver power after tasting power amps. These 2 are the only major difference between the 805 & 705.

Wanted the 875 for the REON HQV Vid processor though, but realized I had a HTPC to do the job anyway.

So 705 fits my bill just fine. Nice improvement in PQ through the receiver's Faroudja, I must say!

All of them used my Atlantic Technology system 270THX speaker system plus Rotel THX power amps, my views are based on their decoder performances only, not their power section, as I use power amps in all my setups.

sir matz, ano speaker ginamit nyo in comparing those amps??

im sure dami followers dito sa final verdict ninyo!!  ;D

Not really, my final verdict is only applicable to: MOI .

Like I said they are all excellent and it depends on which of their strength you prefer, this is what makes it "the best" for anybody. Whats best for me might not be best for another.  :)

Cheers!

Any of those mid level receivers can be great multichannel preamps paired with rock solid power amps.  You can forget about getting a Krell preamp.   ;D

i was wondering bakit ang bilis ata bumaba ng price nito? $649.99 at crutchfield $661.69 at amazon $599.99 at vanns? so roughly 27k+ pesos. ok naman ang reviews pero 1 month pa lang ang laki ng binaba.

congrats sa new toy nyo  ;D

Congrats to MATZ!!!

mukha palabas nga 6 series ^^

Thanks sirs!

Maybe, since I see some flaws in this model: lip sync, inverted pre out (my L+R front pre out is inverted) I hope they fix this on the next models.

Congrats Sir Matt on your new toy  ;) Looks like your going Full HD na  ;D

Thanks sir!

NOPE, not yet. I cant swallow spending 1.5k to 2k on a HD disk that  I will watch once, then just set aside till next year for a 2nd watching. SD pa rin!!!  :D

My golly, isang Nike Golf Dri-fit stretch UV shirt (my fave shirts ever) na yun ah!! & I wear these daily! yung HD disk, one shot deal, tabi na!

Anyway, my SD disks all had a very visible improvement in video due to the 705's Faroudja scaler or maybe cuz of the receiver being a HDMI repeater (to a 10m HDMI cable). Very nice!

So I dont feel the need to go HD yet.  :)

oo nga sir matz paki explain nga ung mga nakita mong flaws. anu ba ung lip sync?

Lip sync issue is the improper synchronization of video with audio.
The audio seems delayed relative to the video even when the audio delay is set to 0 msec. It is almost as if there is a minimum audio delay built in. Some Onkyo 705 and 805 AVRs have this issue. Tama ba sir Matz?  :D

Link: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=875039

For solution to this issue, read the 705 FAQ:

Yes, plus when I forward/skip the multiple chapters of the demo disks, there is a pause in the sound before it resumes, some 1-2 secs.

Almost never had any of these issues with my previous receivers.

Also, I duno why but my front L+R preout jacks are inverted.

though i personally havent experienced 1-2 secs of delay when skipping chapters,

im sure  sir matz knows this already, but for the benefit of the others,
there is a delay when swithing between different sound formats... this is normal as stated from onkyo
