If I buy an Onkyo AVR from the states, will the local distro honor the warranty?

Most definitely not. I think they will service it though (if needed and with fees) but of course you have to remind them that it's 110v.

Question to all 606 user (or 605 and up), how do you set the fronts to small.  I can't seem to find the option to change the fronts to small on the OSD, the only options I have is to change the cut off frequency.  If there is no way to set it to small, what's the best cut off frequency without sacrificing the bass of the fronts and sub?

Thanks!

sir based on readings from the net and reviews and offcourse from  pdvd ht gurus, best setting is at 80hz. you dont have small or large setting for onyo as onkyo is more flexible in adjusting the cross over, best to do is set all channels, fronts, rear and center to 80hz, if you have a sub, set the LFE setting to 120hz. hope this helps

"Large" and "Small" is a terminology that some manufacturers (like Denon) use. Onkyo doesn't use it. For the Onkyo AVR, the moment you select a crossover frequency, you have effectively set the speaker to "Small."

The correct crossover frequency depends on how low your satellite speakers can go and whether they are located close to walls (the closer to a wall, the deeper they go). 80 hz is good for most situations.

Hi Guys ako naka kuha na ng onkyo 607 sa LNS okay sya kaso hindi pwede yung samsung dvd player ko kasi may ksama speakers yun e. Hindi masetup. Kaya gamit ko yung old dvd player ko. Composite connectors tuloy. Hanap pa nga ako bluray player ngayon kahit panasonic bd60.

the 607 naman can upscale composite to 1080P di ba? try checking your manual kung video signal wala dapat issue dahil may upsacaler naman and onkyo yung faroudja yata, di lang ako sure sa audio kung ano kaya detect ng dvd mo, im sure experts in pdvd can provide better response ot your query ;)

just wanted to share fellow ONKYO users.

i recently got an HT RC180 and by far this is the best sounding receiver I have heard and used. SQ for both HT and Audio listening is superb. Apart from this, its THX certified and is network capable, has pre outs so it can accomodate turn table and it can also be used as pre amp in case your looking for more power and intends to use a power amp.

this is a beast of a receiver, highly recommended. ;) ;) ;)
