Sir Louie  my 3008 can read flacs thru ntfs or fat32. I'm currently using a western digital 1.5tb elements for music playing thru usb. You can also use your ipod to act as your browser for the hdd contents so there's no need to open your tv or pj.

Sa akin din although medyo matagal-tagal yong initialization kasi hindi ako nag-update ng firmware. Nacorrect na yata yong issue sa 3009.

Go for 3009 sir Louie! Ipadaan mo na lang sa mga trusted seller yong purchase mo sa amazon para protected ka sa DOA.  ;D

Slight advantage sa power, torroidal power supply at gold speaker connector. Hindi worth lang halos $1k na price difference sir.

Masarap yung feeling na you have the highest model he he he...

Nakangiti ka pag tulog mo sa gabi..

Nakangiti ka pag gising mo sa umaga..

Di papasok sa isip mo na ano kaya kung 5009 na lang nakuha ko kesa 3009..

Mas mabigat ang 5009 kesa sa 3009 he he he.. mas mahirap buhatin..

Ubos ang pera mo sa 5009 sa 3009 may pang painom ka pa sa amin pag nag invite ka sa bahay mo ha ha ha

Mas bagay ang 5009 sa future 70" na tv mo..

Sorry cant help it.. nangungulit lang ako.. he he he

Brader i dont think it will consume 700 watts on mild listening... The higher the volume the higher the wattage consumption.. Unless todo ka lagi mag patugtog he he he

Haha.. Ganun ba?
That's good news then!
When I play Music it's around -10db below reference volume..

AFAIK crossover settings are active in all modes even pure audio. It would be easy to test this, set your front speaker crossover to 100 or 120 Hz cutoff. This will remove a lot of the bass coming from your speakers. Now set it to Pure Audio and see if the lack of bass is still present. If it is then the crossover settings are still active.

Question po sa mga 609/709 (or higher models with HDMI passthrough) owners.  Almost decided na ako to get a 709 due to MultEQ XT and dual HDMI out.  But I came across this blog

http://blog.hekkers.net/2011/06/15/keeping-av-power-consumption-acceptable/#respond

Very important sa akin yung HDMI passthrough feature as I dont use the receiver all the time especially kung downloaded TV series lang ang pinapanood ko.  38W consumption on standby pass through is unacceptable for me.  I might as well turn on the receiver.  Can anyone with a power meter confirm if this is true.

Bro ilang hours mo ba gagamitin yung AVR in HDMI passthrough mode?
Kasi base sa aking computation  ;D using the AVR for 10 hours a day at HDMI passthrough will just cost you around 4 pesos (kung 38 watts nga cya)  ;)

True.  But it pays to be eco-friendly.  Denon as well as my previous Yamaha only consumes 1W on Standby passthrough mode.  I posted this hoping na mali lang yung measurement nung blogger.  I hope someone can confirm.

Sir I was able to use a Yamaha AVR (RX-V3900) and tried HDMi passthrough when playing PS3. If I remember it correctly nasa around 20-25 watts cya. Saka it generates significant heat kahit passthrough lang.

Baka certain models lang ang eco-friendly.  My previous yamaha was RX-V571.  Nasa 1-2W lang siya measured by my omni watt meter.  Yours is high end model na so baka talagang power-hog siya.

Sir R1DVD I got a reading of 17.2 watts with HDMI passthrough on standby.  Sir Courage yung 3008 also generates heat on standby kaya sinasabay ko mag-on yung Jojodfan  sa pagpower on ng 3008.
