Hi All,

Just got my onkyo 360 last night. initial set-up was a breeze but so far I already encountered one problem:
whenever I turn on my xbox 360 (connected via hdmi), the receiver would show "Check SP wire" and would then shut down in about 10-20secs. I've tried connecting it to other hdmi ports and same thing happens. This doesn't happen with my pch-a210 and ps3 though and they work flawlessly with the receiver. I've yet to check if it's the hdmi cable of the xbox that's causing this since I've only spent a small amount of time last night on it.

any advice on the problem?

TIA!

Try checking your speaker wire connections sir. When an error like that appears and your avr shuts down, it may mean that your speaker connections are loose or the black and red connectors are in contact with each other.

Sorry for the super delayed response. Been very busy the past few weeks.
I measured 17.5" from the front of the avr to the rear with the banana plugs (add about a quarter of an inch on the right side for the volume knob). and then 17" from side to side and almost 8" from top to bottom.
That's right, kaya gusto ko malaman yung exact dimension.  Grabe pala ang laki nito....beast talaga!

speaker wires are fine. again, the weird thing about problem is that the shut down only happens when using the xbox. the receiver is working flawlessly with the ps3 and the pch. i also tried connecting the xbox via optical cable while the hdmi of the xbox is directly connected to the tv and problem is still the same.

Try using a known good HDMI with the XBOX.
Use the one from the PCH or the PS3 and see what happens next.

What Auto Volt Regulator are you using sir? If it's heat, try getting a small fan and put it on top..

Try using a known good HDMI with the XBOX.
Use the one from the PCH or the PS3 and see what happens next.

have already did this and it's still the same. avr shuts down after about 1-2mins. the receiver also shuts down even while the xbox is just turned on and not selected on the receiver! tested this while using the PCH and it was playing a movie, i turned on the xbox, and again about 1-2 mins, the receiver shuts down.

I now have nagging feeling that this might be caused by the 3rd party autovolt powerbrick that i'm using on the xbox for whatever reason that i don't know how to explain why its causing this problem. I'll try to use the original 110v powerbrick of the xbox and see if this problem occurs. My only concern is that I only have one 750w transformer that I'll use for the receiver and the xbox. Kaya naman dapat nung transformer na pareho naka on tapos wala naman ginagawa.

Try using an Auto Volt regulator, my Receiver before also shutdown when not connected sa AVR, akala ko Receiver may problema kasi minsan iwanan ko lang naka on pag balik ko patay na.. Then i noticed na nangyayari yun kapag may fluctuation.. Nung nilagyan ko na nang AVR di na nangyari ulit..

Mas malakas ang load nang kuryente sa gabi..

Kaya naman Yung requirements mo with the 1kva.
Pero, I'm not a Fan of CDRKing stuff and considering how costly our setup is with the Onky's, I'd rather stay away from their AVR's.

No need na with the 809 IMHO. If you backread a bit, it was mentioned that it has fans built in, unlike my previous 509 which tends to get hot after a while of use.

Ako, I just use a damp cloth if I notice that it's a little dusty. Make sure that it's not too wet para walang pumatak sa loob.
I also put a cloth on it so that it's covered when not in use.
