I bought an Onkyo NR515 from amazon and had it shipped here last year, been having bproblems with the USB post on both the front and the back. When I plug in my iPhone, or a wireless N router nothing happens. Just the prompt "now initializing" scrolls through the front window forever. Anyone experienced this? Not sure if a frimware update would fix this, and since this is a US unit, not sire if the local distributor wil honor a warranty.

Any ideas?

For SS designs utilizing BJTs, there are performance advantages to running them hot. Downsides are reduced component life and a greater risk of instability.

kita ko na un kasama ng pc12 before hihihi..may terms e...nyahaha...
kaso saka na....masaya na ako a rti a paired with onkyo 805

--------------------
i'm not gonna argue but
the 805 and 875 series was onkyo's best receiver created few years ago..

with the price and the power and take note THX ULTRA 2
power rating - walang daya
tested

hindi ako love your own - i've ask few members and read reviews as well
i was considering to get 708 before, before buying the pio 1021
i ask nogie if i can recall - he stated that 805 was really a great receiver compare to the newer models
sabi nya - malayo ang performance ng 805 sa 608 or 708 - hindi ko na matandaan e
ung 875 advantage more power output and can upscale 1080

ung mga sumunod na receiver medyo tinipid na nga e....805 and 875 was japan made

type mo lang onkyo 805 daming gumamit nyan halos daan daan ung pages sa avsf

sa class A amp nga mainit - pero maganda performance
may disadvantage lang but it doesnt mean na BAD design - it was design that way
unless Onkyo Hater hihihihi

peace everyone...

had an extra time on my hand this afternoon and hook my brand spanking new onkyo 818 from the US. here are some pics together with my 220-volt onkyo 1007

818 front

818 rear

818 weight = 39.6 lbs

1007 front

1007 rear

1007 weight = 51.2 lbs

in paper, the 818 and 1007 produce the same power at 135 wpc but the 1007 has bigger power supply, hence heavier than the 818. the reason could be that 1007 is a 9.2 ch receiver while the 818 is only 7.2 ch.

mga 818 users,

what is the current firmware of you unit? did you update to the latest FW? mine, out of the box has a FW version: 1070-4100-0100-0000. the one available for download at onkyo USA website is Version 1100-7101-0100-0000, dated July 24, 2012.

If you have the time to tinker, can you please tell me the firmware version. I also updated twice but the unit's FW is not the same as the one posted in Onkyo USA site, after the update.

Hi sirs,

I have an Onkyo 606. I'm having problems with the HDMI connections. When I researched about it, I found out from various forums that this model has faulty HDMI boards installed. There's even a tutorial on youtube about how to DIY the fix by replacing the capacitors. Right now, all my video sources are direct to TV and optical and coaxial connections to the receiver for DTS and DD. Sayang lang coz I can't have DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD.

I just wanna ask if someone here is experiencing the same? Would anyone know how much it's gonna cost replace the HDMI board with a new one?

Thanks in advance.
