naka external HDD ako then connect sa usb ng TV, then yun audio out (ng TV) pina "in" ko sa TV/CD (Onkyo), then ang speaker nasa "A".

Thanks

Last question, do i have to configure the remote of the AVR to have the TV and AVR communicate through the "remote settings" kasi eto na lang di ko pa nagagalaw and ayon sa manual you can control devices here

Thanks anyway for the time and the inputs you have shared
looks like di mo pa rin napagana ang ARC? i also have 616, sa akin naman nong try ko 6 months ago straight forward connection lang using hdmi 1.3 cable high speed with ethernet only at gumana naman. kaya lang pag naka-on ang ARC then nakikinig ako ng music at on ko ang TV, mag auto mute ang AVR at di pwede idisable pag naka on ang ARC (sablay yata sa firmware). since may spare optical cable naman ako, disable ko na lang ang ARC at ginamit yong optical out ng TV. question lang, naka TV/CD ba ang AVR mo pag ginagamit mo yong ARC?

Will there be any improvement (sonically) if I upgrade from 606 to 616? 606 is 90watts while 616 is 115watts?

Im' using Mission speakers (M74 as fronts)

Any answer mga master bakit ganun yun sa akin?

puro RCA palang gamit ko. kapag rekta nmn yun ibang source like:

- DVD player
- Wii
- iPod
- DigiBox

wala nmn issue both channel meron.

Pero kapag naka USB mode ako sa TV, then gagamitin ko yun "Audio out" ng TV going to TV/CD or Cable/Sat ng AVR puro left channel lang gumagana using Stereo, Direct at D-T, pero kapag Mono ayun both channel.

Pa help po sa setup ko.

Thanks

masyado na malayo yung generation nila so im sure malaki improvement ng 616 vs. the older 606 and yung rating nila malaki rin difference (though im skeptical about 616 rated @ 115 watts *prolly @ 6 ohms? )
edit:

616

606

looking @ the links from onkyo us site, 100 watts ang 616 and 90 watts ang 606 @ 8ohms
so atleast may improvment sa power rating :)

mga master, question ulit... I was considering to buy 1500watts of voltage regulator per0 naisip ko sobrang mahal kasi and I'm considering na lang to buy siguro 1000w of voltage regulator.

Okay lang ba yun? kasi I'll just use that voltage regulator sa Onkyo 576 at hindi ko naman isasaksak pa ang TV or ps3 sa transformer. 2.1 setup sa onkyo 576 with 1000w of transformer, Will that do? sorry OT ulit.

Slamat sir raider!

I hated Onkyo AVR. Read on.

10 years ago, I bought my first AV receiver which is Marantz SR4300, an entry level receiver. I'm very happy with the Marantz because of it's very warm and divinely musical sound (paired with either mission, wharfedale, yamaha, mordaunt short).

I was really really happy.

Before I bought it, I auditioned all other locally available entry level receivers from NAD, Harman Kardon, Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer, etc. I liked the sound of Harman and Marantz; Harman was beefy and punchier, while Marantz remained simple and stunningly musical.

For 10 years I was very satisfied with Marantz, the 5.1 inputs for my SACD and 6ch pre-outs, 6.1 DTS-ES and DD-EX, etc, however, what I really need now is an AVR with HDMI inputs (and a component video inputs and a USB input feature) so I decided today to buy a new one. Apparently I dont have SARS  ;) (2003-2004 era I think) for AVRs, but not for speakers, Subwoofers, and Display Panels  :P so Marantz is still serving me for more than 10 years.

I hated Onkyo because when I was testing one of their entry level AVR, if Im not mistaken the SR501, it needs to be in its MAXIMUM volume settings for  you to hear what you are listening. So if the encoding of the source you are watching/hearing is relatively low, then if you played it back in SR501, even in the maximum volume level, it may not be adequate. For reference my listening settings/preference for the Marantz is -16db and maximum of -12db, and it can even go VERY LOUD up to +18db. The Onkyo "low volume" issue, was also experienced by  a several fellow PinoyDVD members (my PDVD batch-mates back then). So from there, I shy away from any Onkyo AVRs.

That was in 2003.

Though I am already hearing that these was corrected in 2004/2005 and later models. I didn't care.

Today, I purchased a new entry level receiver (no audition was conducted) from Onkyo, the TX-SR313, I decided to buy it because of the following main features (aside from HDMI): component video in (for my SACD and DVD-A players, and the build-in USB port and of course, for a very cheap price of Php 12K. Wow!

Pioneer 522 (11K) and Denon 1713 (18K) were also consdered but the two AVRs do not have component video in and the Denon is expensive without the component video. I may have a little use with the network capability of Denon but not my priority.

So there, I bought the Onkyo, I hope this will give at least satisfaction, otherwise you will see this in the MarketPlace section soon, though I hope it will not happen hahahhaha. If I am satisfied, then I need to say bye bye to the Marantz Diva.

Cheers!

I know and I'm completely agreeing with you (same company and same sonic sound). Apparently the model I need (Denon 1913) was way out of my budget for an AVR. Maybe next upgrade... hahahhha, the friendly MP is always there...

Nothing much I can do for now but surely I will post my preference/review whether good or bad.
