bili na kasi babalik sa regular pricing yan in a few days time.

Magmmura pa yan hangang december parang last year.. As far as i remember umabot yan ng $649 last year. Ilang weeks din na laging tumataas bumababa price nyan noon.

oo nga, 2 nabili kung receiver during the black friday sale of 2012. onkyo 818= $649 at onkyo 809 = $469

kaya IMHO, don't fix if it ain't broken >:D

[Cross-posting on the Egreat NMTs thread]

I recently bought a brand new ONKYO HTIB (HT-S4505) and hooked up my Egreat R1-ii media player as video and audio source using HDMI cable. So ganito sya:

Egreat > HDMI OUT => HDMI cable => HDMI IN > Onkyo AVR
Onkyo AVR > HDMI OUT => HDMI cable => HDMI IN > LG plasma TV

I notice during playback of a movie file, the video and audio suddenly goes out for 1 second (minsan 2 or 3 seconds) tapos babalik uli. Sometimes, audio lang nawawala pero madalas video & audio. At first, I thought the problem was from the movie file kasi yung sudden blackout is from the same time (hh:mm:ss) which I confirm kapag nagre-rewind ako. Kaso, when I connect the Egreat directly to my TV via HDMI and then connect to Onkyo via optical... bale ganito:

Egreat > HDMI OUT => HDMI cable => HDMI IN > LG plasma TV
Egreat > OPTICAL OUT => optical cable => OPTICAL IN > Onkyo AVR

...wala naman problem yung playback. No sudden blackouts even in the same time (hh:mm:ss) in the same movie file.

I want to use the first connection setup sana (using HDMI all the way at wala nang optical cable) coz the Onkyo onscreen menus are only visible on the TV through HDMI... kaso the sudden blackouts are really annoying & parang nahihirapan pa yung AVR.

Is there some configuration that I need to set on the Onkyo AVR, Egreat, or maybe even the TV para maayos ito??

Hope you guys can help.... especially yung mga meron similar setup (i.e., Egreat NMT connected on Onkyo AVR)

Thanks in advance.

p.s. The Onkyo HTIB AVR model pala is HT-R558.

hi rodel,

not sure what the problem is but i think you can use an HDMI splitter.

egreat->hdmi splitter-> HDMI 1->TV
                              ->HDMI 2 -> onkyo

Hi sir elim.

Thanks for your suggestion. I might consider doing this but what I am actually after is having the Onkyo OSD (onscreen display) seen on the TV sana. I also think that audio output from the Egreat to the AVR would still have "hiccups" kasi nga via HDMI din.

Where can i buy the tx-sr313?

Sir you can buy this AVR from Sights and Sounds Shangri-la EDSA.

Have done some back reading and I think Im setting my sights on the wrong AVR.

From what I've read so far, Onkyo's are on the "bright side". If this is true, it will not be wise to pair it with a TSI300/CS20, tama po ba mga sir?

"Bright" is a subjective term. Onkyo's may be brighter than Denon but I'm sure they would sound good with those Polk Audio speakers that you mentioned. I'm using Onkyo matched with Klipsch speakers and I'm very happy with the combination.

Thanks for the reply, Sir. I actually auditioned a TSX 500t paired with a denon avr and I was not impressed.

Sir, do you mean wall electrical (AC) outlet?
Parehas kasi nakasaksak yung TV and Onkyo sa isang Samwon AVR... pero different outlets within the AVR.
OK na ba yon, or dapat talaga hiwalay as in, ibang wall outlet for the TV/onkyo?
