hello mga masters, need your help especially those who owns onkyo 616 receiver, kailangan pa bang i set yong receiver sa DTS HD MA to play movies with this format kasi ng papanoorin namin yong movie with this format eh nagpuputol putol yong audio, set-up is 5.1 or do i need a 7.1 set-up. Another thing is di ko mahanap yong setting ng DTS HD MA sa receiver though capable naman receiver as per specs. Thanks in advance for any help na maibibigay.....

hindi sya automatic brader(setting na source)
sa receiver matic

the only thing you need to do is set the audio of WDTV to RAW

receiver will decode the DTSHDMA

i was referring to receiver side automatic na basta ang i feed ay dts ma.....with respect to the source kailangan pang is set sa passthrough..or same as input or RAW....thats why i asked kung ano ang source

just read these in a forum  dont know if its true never had a WD

DTS-MA and TrueHD can't be supported by the Gen. 1 since it doesn't support HDMI 1.3 which is required for bitstreaming these formats.

guess you have to have your WD convert  the dts ma to one which it can support

it would seem di kaya ng source mo dtsma...the video would work pero hindi ang audio... kaya dapat magdownload ka ng ordinary dts lang ang audio...that would explain bakit kaya yung cloverfield

Might aswell leave it at 2ch stereo kung for music, it sounds better.

I have an Onkyo NR709 I purchased back in 2011/2012 and after a couple of years of ok use (did have problems that FW upgrade and/or factory reset solved), my receiver no longer receives any input via HDMI (it works sometimes when I turn on my Xbox 360, then it can detect my PS4). I'm thinking it's out of the warranty since it's been more than a year, so does anyone know a solution to this problem?

Also, is there an Onkyo service center here that can try to fix it? I like the Onkyo a lot, and want to know if the problem is fixable since I need another receiver for an HT we're building.

Thanks!

edit: I've also found a website that stated Onkyo issued a recall for some 2011/2012 units. Any idea if the local Onkyo dealer accepts this?

Where is Onkyo Philippines located? Searched the net and found a service center sa may West Ave., but not sure if they're third party or offical Onkyo. Plus, I want to make sure they can fix it since I have to bring the unit from Mindanao to Manila.

FYI, got it semi-working, by plugging in my Cignal box to HDMI 2 so that it's always powered, and it seemed to work; now, HDMI 3, 4 and 7 are working, but still nothing from HDMI 6 (I haven't checked others).

I guess it's good for now that I don't have that much sources, but I'll be limited to the number of HDMI-In I can use for now.
