Mga bro is it ok to adjust the manually the gain per speakers after the audyssey setup? i just adjust the fronts to +6db and center to +7db. thanks

No harm in doing so, afterall, if it sounds better to you afterwards then it was the right move. Although at 7db parang mataas na ata ang gain mo, I've never set my avr over 0.0.

If I recall correctly, that's a yes.  Usually what is suggested is to set it at small and have your sub do most of the low frequency work.

Sirs kamusta ang Onkyo TR-NR509 compared sa Pioneer 521K? Gamitin siya for HT movies pero 2.0 Floorstanders or 2.1 for a 6sqm closed living room area condo.

For speakers, torn between 2.0 A-Audio Ezekiel Floorstanders or 2.1 Ezekiel din or Wharfedale 10.1 or 9.1 with budget sub.

This just came in from the mail... Brand new older stock 2010 Onkyo Pre/Pro for my main HT set-up in the basement. I am so excited! Newer Denon X4000 will be placed in my bedroom and will be used as music receiver at the same time.  :) ;D :D

I already ordered Monoprice snake XLR cables, would it make any difference if I will use more expensive brand like Audioquest?

Magandang hapon sa lahat.

Mga brader, hingi po sana ako komento, balak ko mag set up mas 2.0 muna for the mean time.

Gamitin mostly sa 65% Audio + 35% movies, at if possible ma i hook up ko yung hyundai videoke.

Nga po pala ang sala diretso dining po namin ay mga around L20 x W12 X H9 inches.

balak ko po ito budgetan ng mga  50-60k

TIA po.

626 + rtiA3 good match. videoke input mo audio sa receiver via the RCA red and white, video direct to tv nalang.

Is it normal that the speaker terminals in AVRs loosen in time? Just noticed that my L surround earlier wasnt working when I did a test tone sweep.  First thing that came in mind was a rat eaten speaker cable.  Checked at the back and all were intact.  Then when I checked the speaker terminal in the AVR, it was loose!  I just tightened it and everything worked normally.  I remember the terminals to be tight when I installed them and eversince I haven't touched it.

I am not considering a paranormal event as of the moment.

Salamat.

Brought my broken Onkyo NR709 to the service center, and they informed me that the HDMI board is broken, that it'll take 2-3 months for parts to arrive from Japan and it'll cost 15k.

Considering I bought the unit at around 45k, it's around 1/3 the price. Is there an alternative use for a working AVR but with a defective HDMI input? One does work (for now), so thinking of buying a HDMI switch so I can connect multiple sources to the single HDMI.

Other than this, any unique use I can get from it (audio only mode)?

Hi Doc, this applies to most connections, it's not that the terminal physically comes loose but the cable cores ease over time. It pays to check the connections regularly - I do mine every 6 months.

Hmm. It looks like no more Audyssey in the 2014 line up for Onkyo. Neither the 535 nor the 636 have it, instead they have "AccuEQ":

Buti meron pang tunog yung 709 mo.  My Wife's 809 ay biglang naging totally silent although all other functions seem to be working pa - decoding, video passthrough and processing - wala lang talagang sound.  When I checked the net, mukhang common problem sa 09 series ang defective HDMI board.  I also read that Onkyo repairs that model for free out of warranty kaso I bought my unit from Amazon and I dont think Onkyo Service Centers in Manila can offer the same free repair.   $300 or so nga daw ang repair cost, so mga 15K nga siguro sa Manila.

I was hoping na magamit man lang ang optical inputs while waiting for repair, kaso wala rin sound at all.

Our 809 is only 2.5 years old.  Too early to fail!!!  First time naming nasiraan ng AVR.  Might revert to Yamaha.

09 series, kasama ung dsp sa main board ng hdmi..
one it fail then you need to replace the entire board.

on other series like 805... nakahiwalay ung DSP board sa HDMI..

Bakit tuwing nag-switch on or off ako ng lights or electric fan, nawawala yung video ko pag nakakabit sa Onkyo HDMI inputs?  May fluctuation malamang sa power, but the AVR itself does not turn off.  Yung picture lang sa TV ang nawawala.  Could a surge protector remedy this?

Seeking advice on Onkyo Tx-Nr 616 power shutting down after 30 minutes of usage.

Need help po regarding my onkyo 616, I had this unit almost a year now and everything is fine until last week na pag binuhay mo sya eh kusa syang nagshut-shutdown and it would take awhile  bago sya mabuhay uli and then will shutdown again after 30 minutes or so. As of now di ko muna ginagamit due to this situation. Any idea or anyone experienced the same problem?

Thank you very much
