Patulong naman po. Saan pwede ipagawa yong old Onkyo receiver ko. Matagal-tagal na rin ko syang nabili, di ko na matandaan. Problem is hindi na nya na-sa-save ang settings, tapos yong buttons for 'DVD', 'VIDEO 1', etc.. minsan nagkakapalit-palit. Like if you press V1, V3 and nadi-display. I tried putting up with it kasi nakukuha naman sa tiyagaan ng pag press repeatedly ng function and setting up again everytime na i-power up sya. Functions fine pa naman overall, except sometimes nawawalan sound yong right front speaker intially, then after a while nagkakaroon - baka grounded konti(?).

Another problem is the remote, hindi na sya functional - tagal na kasi tapos minsan nahuhulog-hulog. May replacement remotes ba ang Onkyo or would a Universal remote work on it?

Kindly suggest a trusted service center or a DIY approach if any. Thanks!

i think you can get a 606 between 26-28k and a 706 from 43-46k.

nope.....now I have 4 brand new HDMI cables....hindi defective.....tinesting ko na lahat yung apat direct from dvd player to TV and walang problema....pero once na kinabit ko na sa 876 ayaw na.....

I've followed the instructions on the manual.... I think this is a handshake issue...pano kaya ito i-solve?

I've never had any problems like this in my previous Denons.....

what do you mean your 876 doesn't accept hdmi inputs? have you set it up properly? maybe you didn't assign the hdmi inputs to the video component in the setup menu? ex: hdmi1 - dvd. the 876 also has 2 hdmi outs, baka nakabit sa sub instead of main?

Defective hdmi cables usually cause handshake issue. Have you checked on the osd if the "HDMI MONITOR" is turned to "YES"?

already done this.....I am not new to this kind of thing....although I am a Denon user since 1996 and a Pioneer user since childhood.... :)

This is my first Onkyo Receiver....I still have an Onkyo Audio Setup at my bedroom which I have since 1998

Monitor Out at HDMI Main....
HDMI In-1 at DVD....
Digital In at HDMI In-1....etc....

Now I can use my DVD using component cable and a Coax.....which is quite frustrating since the reason I bought this receiver is because of its 4-HDMI out....and its video calibration capabilities

I think its time to call the Onkyo technical staff

cables are fine....I have 4 new HDMI cables....tested it direct from DVD player to TV....even tested these cables in my friend's setup and it works fine.....I even borrow his Accuracy HDMI cables to test it with my setup but it doesnt work in my setup....

HDMI monitor turned to 'YES'?  where can I find this bro?

right now, my monitor out is okay....it is set to HDMI Main and I can watch my Cable TV and DVD using Component cable and Coax as digital input to my receiver, all output to monitor is through HDMI Main....

ang nangyayari eh pag binuhay ko na yung dvd player lalabas sandali yung opening menu ng dvdp tapos mapuputol na....tapos parang di na makapag-konek silang dalawa....

tnx for the reply....I still cannot solve this 'handshake' issue....

I assume we both have the same remote. Mine is 875. From the remote press "SETUP" then from osd, select "Input/out assign" then "HDMI monitor" - select "yes"  :)

the interface is different then....but already done that....there are 2 HDMI output in 876.....I've set mine into HDMI-Main....

Output through HDMI is working....I've already tried inputs from S-Video and Component and the 876 will upscale it and send out the signal through HDMI....

The input using HDMI is the one that is not working now.... :(

any more help guys?? :(

Have you assigned the hdmi input devices? You have to do that manually.

The safest is "AUTO". You should try this one too 5speed. This might be your problem.  :)

Danrd,  yup I already done the HDMI assignment manually, even try to use the different inputs like DVR/VCR, CD, etc as inputs...and use the DVD as its source.....still the same result....

ET414, I've already borrowed my friends Denon DVD Player and his HDMI cables.....and still all it does is briefly shows the opening wallpaper and it will start to blink and then blue screen....

and yes bro....I already tried the AUTO mode of my DVD player.....maybe I need to try to use the lowest setting of my DVD player (480P)....

nothing works for now.....I am becoming dissapointed with this Onkyo.....:(

Patience brother. I feel the same as you when I first got my 705. Medyo ma-kalikot lang talaga 875/6. But the rewards are awsome.

I meant set "Auto" on the "Resolution" of your 876. Try it. I feel this is your problem.  :)

Thats wierd, I thought you just didnt read the manual like a typical male  :D. But turns out your problem is legit. I couldnt see how it still doesnt work after those settings. And 2 units to boot!

I will whisper to my 876 tonight and ask for the secret code.  ;D

My suggestions:

If you want to change the crossovers set by Audyssey, there is no problem to raise them but it is not good to lower them. Below the recommended point, there are no Audyssey filters so the sound will not be great.

There is a lot of experience to show that the levels set by Audyssey are more accurate than the Radioshack meter, especially for the subwoofer. Unless there was some noise during the Audyssey calibration (in which case it is best to re-run Audyssey), I suggest you leave the levels as recommended.

The appropriate tweak to try out after running Audyssey is to change the setting for speakers designated as Full-range. Apply a crossover instead. This is almost always the best setting. Also set the sub to 120 hz (that is actually the LPF for the LFE channel).

wl try your suggestion bro streetsmart! thanks! :)
