Sir jojo, if your in my shoes what would be your decision? replace or buy a new one na lang?
This is a vintage pioneer, it even doesnt have a optical out.
If I were you (strictly my decision alone). I'll get a new one.
I don't want to alarm or do harm to Pioneer but before the end of the millenium, I have bought 2 units PD-204, 1 unit PD-205 (not sure), and a Jukebox CDP - all of which only had an average of 2 years service life. So you can say that I had been a "suki" of Pioneer service centers from west avenue qc, to 5th avenue kal, to valenzuela branch.
And what's worse, I had a 12-cd disc changer installed in the car and to my dismay - worked only for 12 months after which I had the lens replaced for 2.5K and the darn thing only worked for 8 months. Warranty for automotive units is only 6 months. Darn it.
There was a time (when pioneer logo was an omega) when all of our gear was Pioneer, I loved that setup. Mid 90's I bought a Pioneer amp, EQ, two units dual tape decks, reverb processor, tuner, etc. all of which only the EQ and amp are now working.
Oh well, me and my luck.
Again, strictly, if it were me - I'll get a new one, and a different one for that matter.
