ask ko lang po, kasi ive been looking for a 32in lcd e. are those philips lcds any good? how do they compare to samsung or other brands? meron na po ba nakaexperience na nito? tnx.

another question but a bit of topic. halimbawa po i have a tv capable of 720p, and i have a source capable of 1080p through hdmi and 720p through component? may difference po ba sa dalawa cable considering na 720p lang kaya monitor ko? tnx

Prices of LCD and PLASMA TVs are diving so fast.  In Toronto, you can get 37" Viewsonic LCD for 999cdn$ or equivalent to just php45k. Knowing that most of these TVs are made in China or Taiwan, its not too far that we will be flooded with these items probably next year at such lower prices too. Antay antay lang kung di kayo nagmamadali. These items are like Dvd players before that are so expensive during their early appearance. Now, you can buy in the sidewalk from 1k to 1.5k Taiwan made!

I've seen a new post in the thread today selling VIEWSONIC LCD 32" for 45k. That price is pretty reasonable if you have to consider the additional shipping charges and taxes due it. Like my previous post, I said prices of these LCD tvs diving so fast and here they come! Cheers mga kapatid sa PDVD!

A 720p TV will not be capable of displaying anything above that rating, but it can downrez/downscale to 1080i and 480p depending on the signal you feed into it.

If your display has a native resolution of 720p, it will, via component or HDMI, upscale your 480i input to the display's native resolution, or downscale to that resolution a 1080i input from an upscaling DVD, Blu Ray or HD DVD player.  So the upscaling DVD player outputing 1080i is essentially rendered useless for monitors with less than 1080p native resolution.  What's worst, if you use component connection whch is analog, the upscaled 1080i analog output will be converted back to digital in the display before downscaling to its native resolution, and you could have more video signal losses as a result.  The best is to go digital using HDMI or DVI from your player to your LCD display.   Or just let the display do the upscaling from a 480i input via component.  The least number of manipulation to your video signal (upscaling then DAC in the player, then ADC and downscaling in the display) the better for your video signal.

Sir AV, though a little OT but somewhat related...those sony DRC 1250 sets are basically near 720P? I have a DRC 1250 4:3 TV and pictures are quite lovely.  I found this article on the net....

DRC 1250 employs an original digital-signal processing algorithm that doubles both the horizontal and vertical resolution, eliminating virtually all visible scanning lines with a 400% Improvement in picture density. By removing all visible scanning lines found in other conventional TVs and doubling both the vertical scanning lines from 625 lines to 1250 lines and horizontal pixels from 720 pixels to 1440 pixels, the resulting picture quality approaches that of a HDTV. DRC 1250 technology, coupled with Vertical Compression as with the Sony Wega ES series, allows viewers to enjoy even better pictures with enhanced picture density.

Thanks

ALA EH!!

i like the philips pixel plus 2 better than the samsungs price range almost the same.. dami choices ng 32inches ngayon. from 30 plus k, 50 plus k, 60-70k... depende nalang sa brand.

naguguluhan lang ako kse spoke to some importers yesterday and they said... (Pare pareho lang yan!) i was supposed to get another 32" lcd para sa living room and they told me to wait until feb-march... prices daw are
sure to drop... read the same thing being said in an article sa yahoo.com

Hi Newbie here, how do you connect an analog video out, lets say a composite or component cable from a playstation2 to the AOC LCD, which has an analog vga input? Possible ba with a converter if there is such a thing?

AFAIK 5 ang gumagawa ng panel samsung, matsucrapa and may 3 pa, nagkakatalo na lang sa technology like WEGA of sony, DNIE of samsung, pixel plus of philips etc...sony is using samsung lcd panels.

i can get the 32inch regza for 58k... (63k orig px)

for those paying in cash let me know the model you want and I can get you the item for a
far lesser price.

example: Samsung 32" Bordeaux LCD w/ free 29" TV and wall bracket 99,900
--- I can get it for you for only 85,000 cash.

yung Samsung 79,900 i can get it for 70,000 kasama na mga free items.

basta cash transaction you can get 10,000-20,000 off and get the free items too. with warranty. it'll come from a leading appliance shop too. (i just cant tell you the details yet)

confirm to me na bibili ka ng certain model and ill get it for you cheaper. (0920-9790358)

this is for real. kaya kung talagang bibili ka then you can call me and ill hook you up. (09209790358); will only tell details if you call me. and yung cgurado lang po kasi sayang oras pag inquire lang ng inquire... if you are willing to buy at SRP, then call me nalang for additional px off.

the items you will get from the shop itself not from me. ill just assist you in getting a discount that you cannot get (unless you are close sa may-ari)... may mga trading partners kasi tayo... hehehe  actually, yan yung kicker ng deal. you get it straight from the leading appliance shop branch in makati. they will issue the receipt not me. facilitator lang ako.

like the toshiba 32" lcd. its 63k srp sa golden sound sa v-mall.. you'll get the unit there. 58k.

actually kahit mga aircon pwede natin kunin for a lesser px than srp... kaya lang maliit lang value so sa mga high value items nalang tayo... hehehe
