JedTanner の部屋...[Updated 12/24/2006]
« on: Jul 27, 2006 at 10:58 AM »
Here's an update to my simple HT. Still saving up for the renovations of the room.  ;D ;D ;D

My organized chaos of a collection..  ;D ;D ;D  They're still waiting for their final "resting place".

My HT, PC and Gaming:

Display:  Samsung 32R71B LCD TV
Players:  Pioneer DVD Player (DVD-575K)
             Usheraudio CD Player (CD-1)
Sony Mini Component Turntable (PS-Q3) -- can't verify if it works though, but it powers on..
AVR:      Yamaha RX-V457 (6.1)
Speakers:  =Wharfedale=
  Front Speakers = Diamond 9.1
  Front Center =    Diamond CS
  Subwoofer =       Diamond SW150
Surround =         WH2 (SR, SL and Center)

Headphones: Sennheiser Wireless Headphones (HDR-45)

Consoles: Playstation 1, Playstation 2, PC-Engine Super Core, PC-Engine Super Grafx, Nintendo SuperFamicom, Nintendo NES, Atari Lynx, Gameboy (not in pic).

PC:
AOC 19" LCD Monitor (193FW)
Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 Ghz
Asus P4P800SX Motherboard
2GB DDR400 RAM
Nvidia FX 5200 (128mb) with S-video out
750GB Combined hard drive space
Lite-On DVD ROM
MSI CD RW (48x/40x/24x)

I know the arrangements of the speakers are still not proper, like the subwoofer is better on the right side and the front speakers should be aligned with the center, etc. It's an ongoing project and I'm still saving up for the renovations of the room.  ;) ;D

I am including a glimpse of the initial but partial design of the room. This is the wall where the HT front will be:

Quite a busy set-up you have there, almost like mine, with the PC beside my audio-video set-up.  And the shelves...looks like the stacked DVDs are not meant to be played again.   ;D

hahaha.. the DVD's, etc are just stacked on that cabinet for now. I'm still saving up to have my room renovated and have better access to my collectibles.  ;) ;)

Where can I see yours? Maybe I can get some ideas... ;D ;D

I posted my set-up a couple of years back sometime in april or may in the old thread with mix pictures from everyone.  I don't know if it's still there as I haven't updated the photosite for quite a while.   But it's really more busy now.  If you're designing your HT room from ground up, I suggest to have the DVD racks line up a wall and have it concealed so it not only would look neat but the DVDs get protected from dust.  Just a thought.

Sir, ang ganda ng setup mo. Sabre speaker stand ba yan? Bagay pala sya sa diamond 9.1, kala ko kasi malaki sya para speaker na yan. Bumili kasi si backdraft para rin sa 9.1 nya. Congrats bro, we'll be watching out for your upcoming upgrades. Peace! ;D

Is that how you setup your racks? I'll try to browse around for your setup.

Hahaha..yeah it is partly a gamer's paradise! Thanks..
The PC stand will be removed once I have my room renovated. As it is, the PC is actually connected to the TV using S-Video cable. I used to play pc games before but not anymore. I find it more convenient and less hassle to play console games instead. No worries about hardware issues. Just "lock & load" or "plug & play" for that matter.  ;D ;D

Usually I use the pc for internet surfing, chat, downloads and sometimes for work. I love tv and film stuff including anime, so I download video files for review purposes. If I like the episode, I buy the original for my collection.

Thanks dude! I met backdraft already the other night. I bought a DVD from him. I'm not sure if my speaker stand is Sabre though. A friend referred me to this Audio/Video shop in Shangrila Mall. Got it for P2K, sale daw.. Before, they were selling it for P2.5K. It has a black color but it's out of stock that time.

Updated my setup with the latest addition to the family.... "Usher CD-1 CD Player"  ;D

Boy, it sounds so great compared to cdroms or dvd players. I plan to drop by audio shops for a demo of other popular brands like Rotel, NAD, Cambridge, etc.

Thanks man! I got it directly from UsherAudio's main branch in Taiwan. A friend of mine went there a few days ago and I had him buy it for me.  ;D ;D ;D

Architectural Audio in makati is the distributor here. I believe they're selling it at P19,000. And I got it almost at the same price with Custom Taxes  :'( :'( But it's worth it. Compared in the US, it is cheap as it is being sold there at $699.- However, I inquired through AAudio and they're out of stock at the moment and will have it available in the next few months. That's the reason I got mine from Taiwan.

There's already a write up of this player by "odyo" and here's the thread:

hey Jed!  so, you finally got the CD-1 from Vince? congrats, and welcome to the club!  :)
You should have asked him to hand-carry it without the box.... napasok ko yung akin for 15k only, hehe.

and how do you like the killer remote control? truly high-end fit and finish.  the remote alone is more solid and robust than you run of the mill Pioneer or Panasonic DVD palyer.

for the CD-1, try to invest in really good quality interconnects (whether DIY or factory terminated).  Then follow it up with a good line conditioner and 14g power cords.  tried and tested!

Yeah, I forgot to tell him not to reveal the true price which he did..hehehe.. Oh well, that's life. But I'm happy na din. Kala ko nga it's not working when I turned it on, walang display!!! So I wrote to TW and to AA for support and they did respond. This means good support siya. Kaya lang ang warranty is only in the country where you bought the unit from. Anyway, I didn't notice I plugged the unit to a 110V socket and the voltage selection is switched to 230V pala..kaya it's not working hahaha!! Stupid me! Anyway, it is working and it sounds amazing!!!

and how do you like the killer remote control? truly high-end fit and finish.  the remote alone is more solid and robust than you run of the mill Pioneer or Panasonic DVD palyer.

Yeah, sabi din ng sisters ko. Meron na kaming defense against magnanakaw!! hahahaha!  ;D ;D

Di ba sabi mo sasamahan mo ako sa interconnects and the others???!!  ;D ;D Thanks in advance!
