We told you about it last March, and now we have a streetdate: Dark Sky Films' The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Ultimate Edition, wil be released on September 26th. The two-disc set of the the 1974 horror classic will include an anamorphic widescreen transfer (from a new high definition transfer of the 16mm camera negative), along with a new Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 stereo mixes and the original mono track.

Bonus material will include a new commentary track with stars Marilyn Burns, Alan Danziger, Paul A. Partain and Production Designer Robert A. Burns, second track with Toby Hooper, Director of Photography Daniel Pearl and Gunnar Hansen (ported over from Pioneer's release), deleted scenes and alternative footage, trailers, TV spots, radio spots and still gallaries. Making its statside debut on disc 2 is David Gregory's 2000 Documentary "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Shocking Truth" with outtakes, the new "Fleash WOunds" featurette featuring new interviews with various cast and crew members, a tour of the house with Gunnar Hansen, plus other goodies. Retail is $29.99.

The 2 disc set includes an anamorphic widescreen transfer with new Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 stereo mixes and the original mono track. Now all the extra goodies will include a new commentary track with Marilyn Burns, Alan Danziger, Paul A. Partain, and Robert A. Burns. A second track will feature Tobe Hooper, Daniel Pearl, and Gunnar Hansen. We will also get the standard deleted and alternate scenes, trailers, TV spots, radio spots, and still galleries.

Finally the U.S. will be getting David Gregorys 2000 documentary "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Shocking Truth" on disc two. It will also come with some outakes from the documentary along with a "Flesh Wounds" featurette that will include new interviews, a tour of the Chainsaw House with Gunnar Hansen and other "goodies".



Too many damn versions of TCM already, but i will still buy this...
