LG dk130: how can i convert this to multiregion?

my bro just bought  lg dk130 dvd player without my knowledge and i am a bit disappointed he bought a player that cannot play region 1 dvds.

is there a way i can convert this to multi-region?

pls help.

i siguro try mo na lang tumawag sa LG mismo meron sequence dyan para mag region all nawawala kasi kopya namin.

1) Turn On the device without a disk inside
2) The unit will display "No disk"
3) Press "Pause" then "3 1 4 1 5 9" with the remote control
4) Finaly a menu appears asking the region code (0-9), where "0" is for multizone

^will these instructions work for other lg models - like the dk172?

yes it does i tried it as well :)

btw natzki, are you having problems with the volume button of your dk172 remote? mine isn't responding so i have to manually adjust the volume button of my speakers

i think the volume control on the remote is for the TV which you have to setup and its compatible for just some brands like Sony,etc.
