Immortals 2011
Mababaw ang story and the epic scenes do not match the great ones we have seen in the likes of LOTR. The fight scenes in Spartacus are even better - BUT
Grabe sa ganda ang image quality and the sound is very very very loud and boomy thus, good content for your HT. Great with crisps and soda, or, while ironing clothes (as I was doing..hehehe). Walang masyadong isipan.
Anonymous 2011
This film requires full attention. The screenplay could be quite confusing especially during the 1st half hour and there were so many names and characters that it might not register quickly who was who. The plot is about who actually wrote all those Shakeapearean classics during the reign of Queen Elizabeth (Tudor). The Shakespeare character was portrayed as rather comical (aside from being farce). The funny roommate of Hugh Grant from Notting Hill portrayed the main character (and the most serious one).
Very nice CG of late 16th century London - gorgeous wide shots of Elizabethan London (I imagined naka-bahag pa Pilipino during that time) and good set of special features as well. DTS-HDMA5.1 was utilized mostly as clear dialogue - nothing special there.
I didnt care about historical accuracy and I was never a fan of Shakespeare during our HS and College English classes - so I enjoyed this thought-provoking conspiracy theory a lot.
Top Gear At The Movies 2011
This BD was released last Christmas by BBC. Jeremy Clarkson was not here but only Richard Hammond and the other guy who usually drives the slowest among the 3 hosts. Some quite interesting and very funny segments especially when they tried to re-create some of the extra-ordinary features of James Bond's car. Pretty cool how they built the "invisible" car - to a certain extent, it worked well. Nothing extra-ordinary about image and sound quality - it's Top Gear anyways so it's all about cars and fun.
