Need help sa pag set up ng PS3 ko.

When I first set this up (sa LCD ng bro in law ko) I used an HDMI cable.
Updated the software and all tapos automatic settings for optimum results.
Kaso when I got back sa PH I hooked it us sa LCD ko via the supplied cable (composite), ayaw na mag display. Problema is 1 HDMI in lang ang LCD ko. So I have to switch back and forth between my Pio600 and the PS3.

Ang gusto ko sana gawin is move my PS3 sa component cable (found one sa v mall) then my Pio600 sa HDMI. Kaso nga ayaw mag display ng PS3 pag palitan ko ang cable (from HDMI to composite/component). Anything I should tweak to make this work?

ok, when the PS3 is on standby mode, press the power button on the front and hold it until it beeps and turns off, (it defaults back to the 480i search mode), then plug in your desired cable and turn in on again ^_^

It's a 60in Sony (rear projector, btw).

Sayang...sana pala hindi ko sinama yung component cable ko when I sold my PS2.

Saw a component cable for PS3 sa V Mall, one store was selling for 450. The other one was selling for 1200. I looked at both and parehas na parehas lang. Pati packaging and itsura.

^^^ He he  ;D Sa EYO ba yung P1,200.

May nakalagay bang 1080p?

uncheck nyo yung 720p sa ps3 display settings nyo...this will do the trick to 1080p sa cod4..

ive been meaning to ask this, does the ps3 output 720p or 1080i via component?

yes it does as long as the game / media can support it (actually component cables can even support 1080p from what I read). Just played 300 BD at 1080i last night.

But I think the PS3 can't upscale to 720p or higher using component cables.

for games can do up to 720p for component, for DVD upscaling need to use HDMI

depends on your settings. My LCD can handle both 720p and 1080i. Played 300 blu ray at 1080i using component.

darkwing - yup 720p nga lang ang games. thanks for clarifying

Wait so clarify ko lang....

- using component cables and playing games it can go up to 720p (depende if the game can do 720p)?
- using component cables and watching BR can go up to 720p (depende if the TV supports 720p)?

Are these true statements?

Kasi my LCD has 1 HDMI input lang. I have the PS3 and a Pio600, so I have to choose which one will be using the HDMI input. If the 2 statements above are true then my concern is solved.

I'll have the PS3 conencted to my LCD via component and still get 720p when watching BR or palying games. Then the Pio600 will be via HDMI and upscale SD DVDs to 720p.

I have the same equipment as you. so this is what Im going to do as well. problem is, finding a quality cable from ps3 to lcd. the only thing ive seen so far are the regular ones in gh selling for 450.

Since the 450 ones are the only available cables right now I'll settle for that.
Based on my experience sa PS2 ok naman siya -- moving from composite to regular 450 component.

Another question on setting up the PS3. Ok ba kung ganito set up:
Video: PS3 --> 450 component --> LCD
Audio: PS3 (optical) --> AVR 1907 --> 5.1 speakers

Or

Video: PS3 --> 450 component --> LCD
Audio: PS3 --> 450 component --> LCD --> AVR 1907 --> 5.1 speakers
*The 450 component cable includes RCA audio cables (red and white) that I can conenct to my LCD.

With Option 2: What kind of audio do I get (digital, analog, stereo, 5.1 etc)?
Same question with Option 1.

just connect the both the L/R audio RCA that comes with the 450 component cable to your LCD. and get an optical cable to connect to your AVR.

you can toggle between the two in the sound settings of the PS3. depending on your mood. sometimes i like to play loud so I use my AVR, and there are times when I try to be quiet so I use the sound from my LCD instead.

i saw a third party ps3 component cable in electronics boutique last night. i just cant remember the brand but it has a nice packaging and sells for around 750. i actually felt bad that i got my sony component cables for 1500.

Have you tried using PS3 as a CD player?  There's feedback that it can out-perform some of the popular (and expensive) dedicated CDPs in the market.  Please just chime in here > http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=75947.0

Many thanks bros! Just wanna see up to where we can push this baby.  ;)

I wouldn't be surprised since the 60GB PS3 is able to play SACD, its circuits must be that good

ct,

Problema wala digital audio out (Coax or optical) ang LCD ko (Sammy LA32R71).
Kaya ginawa ko na lang optical out ng PS3 direct to oprical in ng AVR ko.
Haven't tried it though...I'm still testing the avr using cable tv and pio600.

bro, we have the same LCD, mukhang maaga ka rin bumili.... hehehe

option 1 is the best you got. in this option the L/R audio plugs of the 450 component is also plugged into your LCD for normal sound so you only get 5.1 from your PS3 once you turn on your AVR using optical. thats the only way.
