Guys, a quick question, I have only used my PS3 for playing GTA4 so far.

If my PS3's a region 3, could I still play Region A/1 Blu-Ray movies? TIA

yes u can play region 1 blurays but not region 2 blurays coz i tried it already.

I'm not sure of that coz i only tried region a blurays w/c worked on my ps3 and region b bluray w/c doesnt work on my ps3. Region c bluray i havent tried yet. When it comes to games, any region will play on our ps3 coz games are region free.

you mean you have the Asian PS3? only Region A BDs, and those BD movies which are region free

the box of the ps3 indicates region A so i assume pwde lng ang region a region b definitely not coz i tried it na still dont know about region c bds at tsaka when it comes to playing dvds. only region 3 dvds are playable region 1 isnt playable coz i tried it before na.

I have the HK released PS3 acdg to the shop I bought it from. Region 3 naka-indicate sa box e.

So acdg to steelcrazy pwede ang Region A, so C di pwede?

HK is region A same as US and sa Pinas. Anyway dont bother coz i dont think you'll be buying regionC BDs if you can buy BDs in RegionA.

Don't have a PS3 but planning to get 1, if the SDVD upscaling is very good compared to Pio DV600. Just want an objective view on the picture quality of both. Thanks!

yeah un nga nakalagay kasi dun sa map is purple ang hongkong... which is C/3 pero di pala nag-equate yung 2 coz I did my research and found out Region 3 DVDs but Region A Blu-Ray ang Hong Kong

Pardon me but id rather not use the Ps3 to play dvds but only use it exclusively for playing blurays. Perhaps thru this we can avoid the so called BDL failure. There are lots of dedicated dvd players available in the market now so it wiser to get one exclusively for playing dvds.

i agree. if we have SDVD players let play DVD there. lets limit blu-rays and games to PS3 and its games unless very necessary.

The SD DVD video processing (also the upscale feature) capabilities in PS3 out-performs many other standalone DVD players. I got surprised when my PS3 beats my other SONY DVD players including my Toshiba HD DVD player! The PS3 noise reduction feature is smply marvelous!

It's very tempted to use the PS3 to play SD DVD as well but I guess for "insurance" purpose, it's better to avoid it & stick to Blu-ray na lang
