Hi Jeff, you never did answer my request last Saturday, but anyway we went to your store in Trinoma the next day (4/27, Sun), talked to your friendly people there, and JR was able to convinced us to get the Pana 42PY700, which was promptly delivered that same night as promised.
After a week of watching movies (total of 27 hours breaking-in, didn't have time do this actually, palaging may excursion), I've noticed that the panel never did produced a black screen even when power off, the blackest it ever achieved was dark greenish grey, kahit patay ang ilaw ng room, makikita mo pa rin yung greenish grey ng panel unlike my LCD monitor that is actually many times blacker than this plasma (on or off). Lalo ako nabahala when i read somewhere here in PinoyDVD you've mentioned that good plasma should always be blacker than an LCD or to that effect. We went around malls (Trinoma and Mega and North SM) just to verify this observation.
Another problem we've noticed, which I think more critical: on the left-hand-most vertical side of the glass panel, there is a light greenish grey line of around 1/8th of an inch wide, occupying the whole vertical side of the panel, na pag titigan mo parang pundidong bombilya. Nakikita ito kahit power on or off. My eyes always end up looking at this defect while watching movies, nakaka ilang and disturbing given the cost of the said panel.
We've already notify your people and Jen promised that a technician will visit us to inspect the unit 5 pm today, I really hope that this unit will not give me problems.
More power to you and your courteous staff.
