problem is: i dont have a reciever with an optical input. what i do have is 3 integrated amps with normal rca cables. is it possible to connect the ps2 to a dvd player via optical cable and THEN connect the dvd to int amps for 5.1 sound? tnx...

I haven't heard of a dvd player with optical inputs, so no. but, there's a yamaha multimedia type 5.1 speaker set that has a conventional receiver/amp module but it has two optical inputs. it's around 11K if I remember right.

Somebody is selling (refer to buy and sell section of PDVD) a Technics outboard DD and DTS decoder. I think it will do the job. If i'm not mistaken the price is now reduced at Php 4.5K only.
