Another update: I was told that there will be a third version of the DVD release. It's a limited edition gift set with a mini-replica of the Spartan helmet plus the 2-Disc Widescreen Edition and "The Art of 300" book. All these will be packaged in a clear plastic case (daw). Price is P1250.00 and this edition will not be part of the pre-booking promo. As per the Warner rep, only 300 sets will be available locally. Also, not all Astrovision/Astroplus outlets will be selling this.

ito na lang sana sinali nila sa pre-booking promo.. but if ever this pushes thru, i hope my nearest asto gets some.. have to talk to my friend over at astro later and make some early arrangements.. hehe..

I don't think so. I think it will depend on whether or not the outlet will have its allocation, just like the "Corpse Bride" gift set (w/ the two figures) almost two years ago.

This new development got me more confused. I don't know if I should avail of the pre-order promo or not. What if I get to find a gift set after pre-ordering? or If I don't pre-order and not not be able to get a gift set as well? ARRRGGGHH!!!

That's what I told the Warner rep because I was scratching my head after I heard the price, Mr. Hankey. She said that she has already seen the actual gift set. My hunch is that she may have not noticed properly that only the regular 2-Disc Widescreen Edition is included along with the book. I'll verify again.

just visited astro sm north, the only advantage in pre ordering is that you get a P200 off discount on the steelbook version, and P100 off from the ordinary version. there is no helmet included i guess, and i was told that it has no dts surround.

I spoke with the Warner rep today, and that's also what she told me. If you don't pre-order, the price of the steelbook with the Spartan head really is exactly the same as the one without the head, it's just a question of limited quantities - first come, first served.

Officially, at least. I'm sure a lot of the Spartan head-sets will be set aside under the counter at most branches for their respective sukis.

So we were both told the same thing. I asked the Warner rep to confirm further if the gift set comes with the Steel Case DVD release or not. I should get an update by Tuesday.

I wonder how will this look like? I mean the packaging. I hope it will be in one box, something like the V for Vendetta or the HellBoy with Bust. But I doubt it since its a steelbook. $:-\$ Maybe just a regular amaray, so instead you paid for the helmet iso the steelcase.

Maybe it's just be a dinky replica helmet, similar to the mini-replica "V for Vendetta" mask from Best Buy.

steelbook is like the one for The Departed. Steel case like the one of Superman.

regarding 300 release - looks like steel case ata.

I was also told the same thing in Astro SM Makati. Those 3 branhes mentioned lang magkakaroon ng helmet tapos regular 2-disc pa.
