Babel (Feb. 20, 2007)
« on: Jan 11, 2007 at 11:31 PM »
from DVD Times:

Babel (R1) in February

Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Babel for 20th February 2007 priced at $29.99 SRP.. Shot in three continents and four languages Babel traverses both the deeply personal and the explosively political. Acclaimed director Alejandro González Iñárritu (21 Grams, Amores Perros) explores with shattering realism the nature of the barriers that seem to separate humankind. In doing so, he evokes the ancient concept of Babel and questions its modern day implications: the mistaken identities, misunderstandings and missed chances for communication that, though often unseen, drive our contemporary lives. Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael García Bernal, Kôji Yakusho, Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi lead an international ensemble of actors and non-professional actors from Morocco, Tijuana and Tokyo.

A barebones release, the film is presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with English (DD5.1 & DD2.0 Surround) and French (DD5.1 Surround) audio options and English and Spanish subtitle options.

2-Discs? That means I have to re-consider my option of not buying one.  ;)

$37.99 is pretty expensive for a 2-disc edition of a non-blockbuster movie.   :(

It's indeed expensive, but I believe it's the retail price. So once it'll be offered by Amazon, then it should be lower.
